Halloweenmovies.com is reporting these new details: As mentioned before, writer Larry Brand is still penning the script. But the big news is that the director has been announced! His name is Whitney Ransick, he's best known for TV work like ER and Cracker. Also, filming will begin April, 2001 in Vancouver,Canada. Looks like it's going to be in theaters this year.

Since my latest sources on horror have been panning out in hell, how are they going to explain the survival of Michael Myers? If he didn't survive, who is going to fill his shoes? I heard a rumor that Dr. Loomis's son is supposed to be crossed into this plot. If true, when and where did Dr. Loomis have a son, and why wait until now to bring him up?
Again, since my sources have been full of speculation and what not lately, and down right unreliable, lay the rumors to rest dude, what's up?
I heard those types of rumors circulating about a year ago. I am pretty sure nothing like that will happen. As it's planned now, the story revolves around two detectives who head to Haddonfield to investigate the murder of Laurie Strode. And discover that Michael is alive. So, they expect us to believe that it wasn't Michael in H20. That whole idea is outrageously stupid, but it's obvious Moustapha Akkad only wants money and couldn't give a damn about a good story. It is not known for sure if JLC will actually come back, but supposedly her contract stipulates that she has to. I find that hard to believe since she said in interviews that there would be no more sequels after H20. This whole thing is ridiculous. H20 was meant to be the absolute end, and now they are just embarrassing the series beyond repair. I would hate to hear what Donald Pleasence would have to say about this of he were still alive. The only other info I have is that the movie will be shot in Vancouver and Salt Lake City, Utah. And the tag line is:"You can't destroy evil, you can burn it, bury it, and Lock it way, but Evil Never Dies".

I think is bullcrap that they're making another one. (But I'll be the first in line)(I'm such a sucker)
Same here Snert,
I think the series should end, even though I hate to see it end, it's just the right thing to do, it's already too late to save it's dignity (I did like H20 though). But I'll be seeing the 8th one anyway. I guess I'm a huge sucker too. Just like I love the SCREAM series but don't think a fourth should be made, because what if it was and sucked, that would ruin the first three for me because I liked them. Of course if a fourth was made, I'd see it... I'm just that way. I end up seeing sequels even if I think they will suck or if I didn't like the first one. I didn't really like THE BLAIR WITCH PROJECT that much but I saw the sequel in the theater and I loved it... So, at least I liked the sequel, but it's wierd because I was so psyched to see Blair Witch 2 and I didn't even like the first one. Why am I such a sucker, maybe this should be a new TOPIC...
