What do you guys think about this movie. Will it be awesome or blow?

I read the script and its ok. Nothing that special about it. It should be pretty red but the killings are mostly ignored by the characters, its like "Oh he's dead, let go roam around". I think the movie should be ok.

I'm looking foward to it. DAMN! I've been waiting 8 long years. I'm not expecting oscar winning actors or a very decent script, that's just not being realistic. It's a horror flick - if everybody reminds themselves of that before they watch it, then we can all switch of and watch an hour and a half of our hero slicing and dicing his way through his first victims since 1993.
I, for one, know it is gonna ROCK!

It'll be okay. Better than Jason Goes To Hell, that's for sure. I've read four drafts of the script. The "Revised Rough Draft" floating around the net, Draft 19, Draft 26. and Draft 39 (I believe there were 44 total, so I have not read the final).

I find the humor to go a bit too far. Kay-Em 14 is annoying in every draft. The thing still plays out like Alien: Resurrection with Jason replacing the Aliens. The ending is pretty much the same (save for the mask hitting Earth II. That was never scripted, and was added in by whoever posted the script on the net).

I still couldn't give two shits about any of the characters. Rowen's annoying. Lowe is funny, but he dies too early. Delongpre, one of my favorite characters from the rough draft, is gone.

So, if you want a comedy, you're in the right place. It's hardly horror.

And I still think it's gonna bomb at the box office.....(Jason X vs. Planet of the Apes. Tim Burton vs. Jim Isaac. Which do you think will make more money?)

Jason is space. Not exactly my cup of tea, but, I don't care as long as my man Kane gets to do some slashing and hacking. I'll see it just cuz I've never a Friday in the theater.

I hate to say it, but I think this film was fall prey to the MPAA as most new films have. Bastards.

Dude, it will be nice to see Cane Hodder reprise the role of the hockey mask, slashing, slicing, and dicing master of the overdramatized death scene return . . . and that is about it.
Friday The 13th needs to come to an end . . . and this time in space? Wasn't it bad enough when he took Manhatten? I thought that it was a good comedy, but it sucked as a horror film. I just think that, as Freddie, Jason should be put to rest. Jason goes to hell proved it, NOBODY that is a true horror fan wants to see another Friday film. I did enjoy the first six, and aspects of the others, but that doesn't make them GREAT horror films. PLEASE spare us the immortal cheezing of one of horror's biggest icons!

Skaboy, Jason X has already been rated R. It didn't have any MPAA problems.

Why the hell does HBO keep showing JASON TAKES MANHATTEN over and over again? That's the only one I've ever seen on there. Geez.

Yeah, you are right! But those films were released while the horror genre was going downhill! Horror was out and action was in (see DIE HARD). After the genres' revival thanx to SCREAM in 1996 pretty much all amply budgeted horror flicks have made it to the cinema! Think about it!

P.S. Even in the middle of 'horror movie death' at the cinema, they still showed NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET 4! It was even on where i lived!

i still say it wont be shown in cinemas- the censors in this country have never liked the Friday the 13th series or halloween for that matter- so i dont think it will get shown- as none of its predeccesors were. hope it does though!!!

I read about half of the script and then skipped a bunch and read some more and then I skipped a bunch and read the ending. It wasn't to bad of a script and I will see the movie. I kind of wish they'd make one with Jason back in the good ol' woods with some teenage campers. Even though we've seen that before I can't get enough of it. It was fun to watch... I liked it when Jason was slicin' and dicin' in the woods. I like that better than the idea of Jason in the future with all the technological stuff. Keep it good and simple like it was, that's what they should do. But oh well, I'll see Jason X anyway, like I said, the script wasn't all that bad...

"Jason X" could be good. I recently watched "Jason Goes to Hell", which was mildly entertaining (good kills, hideous score), but then again, it's the only other "Friday" flick I've seen (#1 is the other one).

Prairiedogking, you can rest now: next month on MoreMax, the second Cinemax station, they'll be running all "Friday's" through #7. Now I don't have to pay to rent them all otherwise!
