I heard a rumour on the grapevine that Ehren Kruger, the guy who wrote Scream 3 (no joke about the name by the way!!!) has written a sample of a script for ANOES 8- and apparently Wes Craven isnt too happy about it!!!

So do you think it will ever happen? what would u like to see Freddy do next?! is there any way that it could be any good?!

Femme: of course they can make part 8. It's Hollywood and Wes doesn't own the right to ANOES series anyway. He just did the last one to actually put Freddy in his grave. Any new upstart can revive him as long as the bigwigs get their money, they'll make it. To them, it doesn't matter if it's going to be a good movie or not. They know people will see it. Example: Halloween 8: Michael Myers.com. what the f$$k? Expect another elm street movie if some schmoe is writing a script for it. Especially with jason vs freddy coming out.

I agree with flatt; there probably will be a NOES 8, but I bet it won't happen for another five to ten years. Why? A hunch, I guess. New Line (or whoever owns the franchise now) will use it as their ace in the hole when profits from their other movies start to flag.

Hmmm, let's wait for "Jason vs. Freddy". If this makes enough money, I bet there will be another Nightmare before you can say "This is god"!

But anyway, I agree with you Watchman, New Line is going to wait and see a whole lot longer. There is always room for a little Nightmare-cash-in when things go downhill...

I wonder what Robert Englund thinks about this... He hasn't been in a worthwile Movie in a LONG time ( Wishmaster excluded ).

Yep, New Line claims to have ended the series with NEW NIGHTMARE, but as soon as they need some quick profits, they'll squeeze out a part 8. Hope its decent when it comes out.. I'd hate for it to ruin the series. I'm always very pissed when a sequal comes along and ruins a good series. /ubb/frown.gif
