Well, here is yet another new topic, where in the hell is George Romero anymore? I see that people want to remake his movies left and right (Night Of The Living Dead, and soon to be Martin) and fire him from projects (Resident Evil), but is he even doing anything new?
It's nice to see re releases on his older films, but where are the new ones? Anybody know? /ubb/frown.gif

Fantastic news from the George Romero homefront as his newest project "Bruiser" is due out soon. I'm not quite sure what it is about but it looked like (from the pictures I saw) it was about a killer mime!?

Not a killer mime...although a novel idea.
It's about a man who is often ridiculed, and hates most people he knows. He wakes up one day without a face and kills everyone who has ever done him wrong. I think it's a great idea, and the production is over.
But there is one problem. I read a couple of months ago that Romero couldn't find a distrubitor for the film. I hope he does soon. I need to see a new Romero flick. Never have seen one I didn't like /ubb/redface.gif)
And you said a remake of Martin????? Where could I find out about this? That movie was terrific!

Around November of last year or so, Romero held a screening of "Bruiser" at the North Carolina School of the Arts. Heard that it wasn't a big hit, but that group isn't really a horror genre crowd. Unfortunately I missed his talk and screening...

Romero is one of the great horror directors. He needs to work more often. Even outside horror, I don't care. The guy's great! I'm looking forward to "Bruiser." Check out Fangoria #200 for a great article on the flick and on Romero himself. And I would love to see a remake of "Martin." It's a great movie, but it could have definitely used a little more style, budget, and would have benefitted from improved pacing.

Saw a trailer for Bruiser, looks excellient. Lots of fun, don't think it is a horror movie though.
Maybe i am mistaken.

I heard that Horrorpunkband "Misfits" will have a cameo in "Bruiser". Romero directed their last Video.

Yeah, I'm a big Misfits fan, but I haven't seen the video. Anybody out there who has? How is it?

The Misfits are doing the soundtrack to Bruiser. Can't wait to get a copy.

The Video is for the Song "Scream" which was one their last album "Famous Monsters". I've only seen a part of it ( drunk....again ) and it looked like a chase scene in a slasher flick.

Romero's latest project isn't horror, though the idea certainly sounds close: he's helming a film called "The Assassination", possibly starring the other half of the Ambiguously Gay Duo...Ricky Martin.

Romero did a MISFITS video? I really feel stupid at the fact that I did not see it, anybody seen it or have a copy for sale? Ilove Romero and The Misfits as well, and if they are in Bruiser, it should be groovy, as they are creepy when they want to be.

Skaboy: What's this about Romero not finding a distributor for "Bruiser"? According to upcomingmovies.com, Lion's Gates picked it up!
