So what did you all think? I just got back from the theatre and I loved it! It was not as good as the other(s) but no one really expected that. I don't predict Oscar sweeps this time, but it was a great movie that is truly captivating in a very morbid way. Hopkins IS Lecter!

I was very disappointed. It wasn't a terrible movie, but it wasn't nearly as good as it could have, should have been. Ridley Scott's over-indulgance in empty style ruined the pace and distracted from the story.
On the other hand, the boars were about the scariest things I've ever seen on film, and the dinner scene at the end made my jaw drop. That scene alone was well worth the price of admission.

I wasn't too disappointed in the movie. Anthony Hopkins is great to watch as Dr. Lecter and was the price of admission in my opinion. As well, the rest of the actors did their parts very well. The direction was also excellent by Ridley Scott.
Only problem was that Special Agent Clarice Starling and Lecter didn't play off each other as well as in Silence of the Lambs. And a little more background into Hannibal's life would've been a treat.
What was scary? Gary Oldman as "Mason"! Scarier than Hannibal? Definitely. The wild boars were fun to watch. And the ending had me queasy. This is the first movie in many years to make me queasy and the last 10-15 min were stomach churning. In my book, that gets extra points.
4.5/5

I thought it was pretty sweet!! the best part was wen hannibal pushed the guy off the building and u could hear his neck snap and then they showed the ground with a puddle of blood... that was great.

I liked it! It was no where as great as it could've/should've been, but it was still a very disturbing film - even more so than lambs! Hopkins was great again. Love how he manages to throw puns out at the audience while preparing to eat people... Very shocking and well done film.
My grade: ***

I just theoretically may have gone to this movie on acid, and I am damn near walked out after the first 20 minutes because I was mentally freaking out. I couldn't have been more impressed, and I went again the next day (not on acid). Maybe my favorite movie.

I think Hannibal is as good or better than
Silence Of The Lambs. I have seen Hannibal
a few times already and Sir Anthony and
Julianne Moore are absolutely wonderful and
flawless!! A great movie!! Everyone go see
it!!
