I was reading this article and it made me grateful...grateful that the last Spawn flick would not be in vain...I sure hope this one turns out better than the last...any thoughts?
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Columbia
Pictures has picked up the rights to do a new SPAWN
movie from comics creator Todd McFarlane, who is
working on the script with Steve Niles. The feature, which
will reportedly be more horror-oriented than the previous
New Line film, will be produced by McFarlane, Terry
Fitzgerald and Don (NATURAL BORN KILLERS)
Murphy.

sounds cool to me, i liked the other spawn but it was more of a action comedy than a horror.

I enjoyed the last Spawn pic and would go see another one. Well I know I'd rent it. If they make the hell sequences better and may be the devil's mouth move when he talks it would be better. I don't know if it was horror either. It was just action I think. Ofcourse that "Enihilator" thingy or whatever that the clown turned into was pretty freaky.
Sacraficial Cow - first it's Violator, not Enihilator. It would be cool if they made another spawn flick. The first one had it's moments of sucking, but it was a decent film in the long run. So I say, what the hell, go for it and make another one!

A . . . new . . . SPAWN, can't . . . move . . .legs!!!
WHY? Look all, I am a really big comic book nut, and I loved SPAWN for the first three years, and that's it.
Todd is grasping at straws with SPAWN any more. The story for the first one was mediocre at best, and so were most of the special effects.
If they could get a better screen play, have Michael Jai White act like a human, and not some mongoloid Klingon that just looks like Freddie Kruger, they may actually have something. Oh, and go for the "R" rating as well, I would not really call SPAWN a kids comic . . . it's not like it's Spider - Man, or Captain America, for crying out loud!

If they make another SPAWN movie it will BOMB at the box office cos it has been around for long enough now for all to see and realise that it SUCKS!!! I like MICHAEL JAI WHITE, but i admit he was pretty bad in this! I didn't even finish watching this it sucked so bad!!!! What was JOHN LEGUIZAMO doing in this SHITE???!!! He is an amazing actor! Hello! SOS - SUMMER OF SAM, and he even managed to shine in THE FAN!

Someone fill me in on the anthology of the Spawn comic books. E-mail me! I saw the movie but I thought it was just lacking in drama or build up or a climax.
I think that the Spawn movie series might not work because Spawn the franchise has a reputation as being a sexist creation. For instance, the woman in Spawn gets killed in cold blood because she's the villain and Spawn must kill her and not arrest her, which teaches him the lesson not to be evil while we the audience and the producers get our sadistic pleasure.
Also, Todd McFarlene has a reputation as an anti-capitalist nut and that will hurt a Spawn movie series that needs money to stay around from people who work. And in this era where people want financial success and money he can forget about drawing a Spawn movie fanbase.
If you hate what I said e-mail me on it at unicorn207@lycos.com Don't waste the time to write up something I might never see. I just don't have the time.

I thought there was a lot to be improved on in the first flick. I hated the over use of CGI, it was practically an animation.

The last Spawn sucked cause they tried to make it a kids flick. Afraid to get an R rating killed it. The sequel will most likely suck as well unless they stick to the comic style and feel of Spawn and aren't afraid to get an R rating.

I rented the R-rated version, but I didn't like that, either.

I thought it sucked for one simple reason: The cape. In the comic, Spawn is a freaking red cape with a head (not really, but he does look like that). In the movie, he barely had it! He was just some muscular guy. Now, what the hell is the point in that? To make it an action movie?? The HBO cartoon was heaps better.
