Okay, I just ordered the last Dario Argento movie that I haven't seen (Cat of Nine Tails) and I think that Dario should be brought up more in this board. I have seen EVERY single one of his movies, excluding the one I just bought, from Bird with the Crystal Plumage to the most recent, I Can't Sleep.
His use of light, color...it's constantly amazing to me. It also amazes me how he can actually personify death and sometimes (hard to believe) make it beautiful.
The man is a master. His directorial debut, the Bird with the Crystal Plumage was enough to give me a few sleepless nights.
Deep Red, Tenebre...both haunting and scary.
Suspiria...supernatural horror at its' BEST!
Phenomena is a weird ass movie, but man I think it's the scariest one, and the coolest one.
I recommend that any horror fan check out at least one of his movies, because, usually, there are so many levels to them that it is easy to find something that you enjoy in them.
For me, it's not so much the gore...but the camera work, style, and scares.
Keep 'em coming, Argento!
