Hi. I am a big fan of Jim Carrey and I usually enjoy PG-13 movies over R rated. But I want to see M,MS,and I. Does this have alot of cussing and nudity in it? I enjoyed Man on the Moon (but if it wasnt for the prostitute scene it might have been PG-13). So I dont know if it will be to much cussing for me. Any help out there?

A Jim Carrey movie with a lot of cursing and nudity? I doubt it. It's probably gonna be something like "There's Something About Mary", another Farelly brothers movie. There wasn't really a lot of swearing or nudity but there was some nasty gross-out humor.

By the way I'm also a huge Jim Carrey fan and though I think he's hilarious I liked him best for his performance in The Truman Show.

It's doubtful there will be a lot of cursing or nudity. I'd like to ask you something (because of your name containing wwf) are you one of those idiots who watches fake wrestling.

Yes I do love SPORTS ENTERTAINMENT but only WWF. The reason I ask about cursing is that I have to have parents approval to see a R movie (I am only 16 and just got the privilage to see R movies (sad isnt it)). I have never saw Theres Something About Marry because I thought It would be too much to ask. And the movie is rated R so alot of cussing is usually a given (except for Man on the Moon). That is why there is a possibility I might not be able to see it. I hope that anyone that has seen the sneak preview can inform me.

Hey I didnt mean SPORTS ENTERTAINMENT has a hatefull or mean response. I meant sarcasim and jokeingly responding. Sorry for not being specific.

DAMN man I'm 13 and I own about 350 R films. See all R films I'm intrested in and (this my parents don't know and wouldn't aprove of) have seen 6 NC-17 films. I do feel sorry for you and hope soon you'll be able to see whatever you wan't.

p.s. I understood the SPORTS ENTERTAINMENT thing and I'm sorry for calling you an idiot.

QUENTIN, what are those NC-17 movies like? How did you get to see them?

Just for the record, ME, MYSELF AND IRENE DOES have a lot of cursing in it! Carrey's three black sons in the movie (don't ask, it's too long of a story, but quite funny) are constantly swearing throughout the movie.

Nudity-wise, I think there is one tittie shot, but that's about it.

Hey JoBlo, do you have a guesstimate on the cursing (sorry)? Or even better could you compare it to the Blair Witch Project (I actually got to see it because it was a gift). It had quite a bit and if it is less than that I can talk my mom into it for sure. If not there is still a chance but no a good one. Any help would be appreciated. But if you are too busy that is understandable.

Just bumping it up so JoBlo can see it or any one else that can help.

NC-17 movies are basically like R movies with the violence and sex turned up a notch. I rented them.

QUENTIN

I was able to rent them because I'm good friends with everyone at the local videostore.

To that dude with the really long name...I'm sorry but I really have no idea how many curse words are in the movie...one thing is for sure...every time Jim Carrey's 3 sons make an appearance...the swearing flies all around!!

The person who I bought the advance screening tickets from said that the film was on a borderline NC-17 for language, sexuality, and bad taste in jokes... we're talking MAJOR GROSS OUT JOKES here.

Quentin... how do you own so many movies? Is this like movies your whole family owns or just you alone? And NC-17 movies usually tend to suck ass, so I reccomend nobody watch them, they're just stupid.

QUENTIN
06-23-2000, 10:03 PM
They're movies just I own I have what could be called a video library in my room.

I'm currently starting a DVD library I have like somewhere between 60 and 70. It's not that many but it will be soon.

I saw one NC-17 movie and it was ok but nothing great, I think the only reason they get the hype in because of the rating. There is probably more racy content in most R-rated movies.

As for Me, Myself, and Irene I did not think it had nearly as much Gross-Out humor as There's Something About Mary or even Kingpin. I expected more nudity and sexuality, especially from Renee Zellweger. Damm I was dissapointed.

Me, Myself, and Irene was not the typical Fharelly Bro's movie. It had a few really funny parts but it was more entertaining than gut wrenching laughs.

Damn, man, I thought I was all baddass because I have ten DVDs... I'm only thirteen and I've bought them all. Mostly from Blockbuster's Pre Viewed DVD collection. I had to buy my own DVD player becuause my dad didn't think he should have one. I own about 100 VHS Tapes, and mostly all of them are Rated R.

HomerSimpson

Jake, to make you feel better: I don't have a DVD player (though I want one very much), I don't own any DVD's and I only have 5 VHS tapes. Jesus Christ, where do all you people get the money to buy those things?

The movie doesn't have much cussing or nudity. However, it does contain a lot of sexual innuendos and intonations, and Renee's nipples were in plain sight behind her clothing most of the times, a la Baywatch. /ubb/smile.gif I'm not really a Jim Carey fan, but I did end up enjoying the movie somewhat. I think he did an excellent job portraying two different characters. I have to give him respect... it has to be difficult to play and give life to two distinct characters. I did enjoy him in Man on the Moon.

Listen guys when you are a Christian (as my whole family and I are) you dont want to (are your parents dont) see anything that makes fun of God and Jesus. And I try to be good to my parents and obey them because they get me alot of things and care for me. And Blair Witch wasnt a Christmas gift. A gift from a friend. And one other thing you might want to be good to your parents before it is too late and they are gone ( if they arent already). I love my family because they love me so much. But enough of this. I did see Me, Myself, and Irene this week and thought it was horrible. I laughed maybe 5 times (and they were all from the parts from the commercials or Canned Hamm on Comedy Central). This movie was stupid even for a Jim Carry movie. I cant wait for the Grinch. And I'll tell you what a wussie is. A wussie is someone that thinks that they are so much better than everyone else and dont have to go by rules. A wussie is someone that dosent take advice because they think they are so much better than everyone else. A wussie is someone that dosent listen to teachers (bosses) and cant figure out why they dont make good grades or get fired.

I cannot believe this topic had over thirty replies!!!! Degen - I'm a pretty strong Christian also - I don't know your intentions on films but if you have any dreams of being a part of them then you will have to accept the fact that movies are about life and life is not sweet and innocent. I get reamed by some of my Christian friends for seeing certain movies but they don't understand that I plan to make some of my own eventually and the average audience doesn't go for fake dialogue. You have to be real. God knows your heart. So don't trip little man, just cause you see a film with curse doesn't mean you're gonna burn.

Crynot - for he is coming.

Maybe it was funny to you Fzero because you are a simple minded fool and thinks that lots and lots of curse words makes a movie funny. and you wanted to get attention and badmouth somebody that didn't do ANYTHING to you, and he already left the board I think. so in other words, shut the #$%@ up you *&%$ing #$%# son of a $%#$@ #$%$#. I bet you thought that was funny huh?

HomerSimpson

Though I liked Me, Myself & Irene, I think FZero is a fucking loser. I agree with Mr. Meat.

Well he hasnt made me leave the board. Thanks to all that defended me. I dont have anything against that guy but he shouldnt have cussed me out because I didnt think that the movie was as good as all of Jim Carrey's other work. I mean the movie was pretty good I just didnt think it was funny. It had a few parts that bring a snicker (all of them were in the commercial or the MTV Special) but the only real laugh out loud part for me was the price check. I personally laughed more in Man on the Moon. And I think that Man on the Moon is the best movie I have ever seen (for anything besides a comedy). I never lost intrest and Jim should have won an Ocsar with a perfect vote. This is just my opinion but I wont get mad if you disagree.

I thought Man on the Moon was very good I give it 7.5/10. Jim Carrey is my favorite actor and Milos Forman is a great director, so I highly anticipated this movie. When I saw it, I wasn't disappointed. Jim Carrey gave his most brilliant performance yet.

degeneration, have you seen "The Truman Show"? That's my favorite Carrey movie and my #3 favorite movie of all time.

Mr. Meat
07-23-2000, 01:12 AM
One of the reasons I rented Man on the Moon was because it's from my all-time second favorite director, Milos Forman.
I really thought The Truman Show didn't get enough praise it deserved, but its not on my top 10 list.

HomerSimpson
07-23-2000, 01:40 AM
Mr. Meat, what's your favorite Forman movie?

Mr. Meat
07-23-2000, 01:44 AM
Homer it happens to be my personal favorite (but not greatest) film of all-time. One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest. It was one of the first masterpieces I ever seen. That followed by Amadaeus coming in second favorite Forman movie. Have you noticed nearly all his films are about rebellion of some sort or rising against a system? What's your favorite Forman movie?

HomerSimpson
07-23-2000, 02:07 AM
I'm really embarased to say that I have only seen 2 Forman movies - Man on the Moon and The People Vs. Larry Flint.

Why? Because I just haven't seen that many movies yet. See in case you didn't know I've been a true movie geek for just half a year, so I have not had the chance to view some great movies. However I'm going to rent Cuckoo's Nest this tuesday, and maybe Amadeus too.

For now my favorite Forman film is Larry Flint but I assume that's going to change very soon.

Mr. Meat
07-23-2000, 02:16 AM
There's nothing to be ashamed of having Larry Flint as your favorite Forman film. I consider that Harrleson's best work, as with Courtney Love. But keep that in mind what I said before. Nearly all of his films has some sort of a sense of rising over a system or government, even rebellion. Cuckoo's nest also has my second favorite ending of all time. Very powerful.
