Luckily it is the tenth one. This means that the "every other one rule" applies and it should be good.

For those of you unfamiliar with this rule, it is the law that states that out of all the Star Trek films only the even numbered sequels (or every other one) will be good. I haven't heard about this one but I know thery wanted to do one more before moving on to Deep Space Nine movies. I personally think they should stop making them.

I've heard the "every other rule," but I think it was invented solely because of that mess of a movie Star Trek V: The Search for God or whatever it was.

ST I and ST III were both vastly underrated films, in my not so humble opinion. ST IV: Save the Whales, on the other hand, sort of sucked ass.

On another note... I hadn't heard a thing about DS9 movies. I don't know what sadist would inflict such a thing upon the populace of the world, but I fear such callous disregard for human life and dignity.

Also I have not heard anything about Picard dying but once heard that Data may die. But then they say although Data has an important arc, he won't necessarily die.
