As all of you know singer/actress Aaliyah died in a plane crash on august 25 at the young age of 22. Being a fan of Aaliyah i wonder what they plan to do for the matrix reloaded, i herd she finished all of her shots for the movie but did not start on shooting the matrix 3. What will happen now? will they get a new actress? will they use her footage for Realoaded and get a new actress for part 3? or will they use her for part 2 and have her charactor not in part 3? Will this very tragic accident ruin what could have been her biggest role yet?

I presume that they will proably change the character, it's the most sensible thing to do, although, no one is sure of her entire part in the second film, so it could have been vital that she was in the third.

I would assume that they may keep her in The Matrix Reloaded and probably replace her with another actress in The Matrix 3. I mean, it would be exorbatantly expensive to replace her with another actress after she had already completed Matrix Reloaded, so that's the only thing I can think of.

Or they could possibly make a computerized version of her for The Matrix 3.

It was be untasteful to kill her off in Reloaded, and I'm sire they wouldn't do that.

It would be worse to computerize her than "kill" her off

I think that she was a talented singer and could've been a major acting talent had she not been cut short in life. Yes she did have brains and beauty but from what i've heard, she always acknowledged her fans and never refused them for anything, even a measly little autograph, which shows she obviously had her heart in the right place and never acted like a "diva". And eerily enough, I saw MTV's video diary of her and she seemed to be a normal girl, despite her celebrity, but what's strange was in a segment of the diary, she got on a bungee cord ride at an amusement park with one of the other victims of the crash where she was hanging 60 ft. above ground.

As for QotD and the Matrix sequels, I read on a news site that she had already completed her characters' scenes and she was in the Bahamas because she was making a video there of her next single.

The vehicle that crashed was a single engine private plane, the bane of public figures everywhere, especially talented young singers/actors/political figures. These things should be banned or at least flown under the supervision of someone who can detect problems and act as a backup pilot on these clutterbuckets. Let's not forget the other victims of this crash, they deserve just as much attention as Aaliyah and let's hope they're never forgotten.

Thats sad. Really sad. I don't think they will change the character, OR kill her off, i think they will keep her in, but maybe have a voiceover at the end having her fall back into the matrix.
Just my 2 cents, I'll go back to my cage now.

You really need to get rid of that tagline.

So she did finish her part in The Matrix Reloaded? I think the should just replace her for The Matrix Revolutions...To make her computer generated would be crappikly expensive..

I heard that Aaliyah was only done with her fighting training.

I think they should just replace her..Sadly it's the quickest thing to do and the least expensive...But she would have been great in it...It's soooo sad...

Im not precisely worried about Matrix 2, but I am for the Queen of the Damned sequel coming up. Im a big Anne Rice fan and she was ideal for the role if you ask me.
Its sad, though, because she had her life set for her after these next new films. She'd have everything ready for her.

They could use this as a brilliant excuse to scrap the stupid trilogy!

The matrix trilogy is gonna be awsome dude! It might be two actresses in place of aalieahs part, but it will still be sweet. Its the only sequal am looking forward to.

I read on Corona today that she's done 80% of the filming of Matrix 2. Now they have to decide if they wanna recast and reshoot Matrix 2, or just recast for Matrix 3 only.

She actually did finish her scenes in The Matrix Reloaded...Today on the MTV special they said she was done...

I suspect they'll just write her character out of "Matrix 3". It's not hard to replace one actor with another in that respect. Just look at "Silence of the Lambs" and how Jodie Foster was just sorta left out of "Hannible". I suspect they'll do something like that, but who really knows.

If she had already done her work for Matrix 2 then that all settled. If she had done the 80% then they should still be good. (that's about how much Brandon Lee had done on the crow when he died.) And I think that the wachoski brothers could fix the script for the third movie. I don't see it as a relevant problem now.
I don't think it was lack of expirence that downed the plane. They siad the plane was overloaded with people and luggage. I think we need pilots who will put people saftey before anything else. It is easy to tell when a small plane is overloaded. The plane should never have left the ground.
