What do u think would be the ideal sequal to a movie that there has been no word on a sequal what films do u think need other sequals or just on more sequal.

1.Final destination:i think would be great to have a sequal like im not sure what the plot would be like.

2.childs play:i hear seed of chucky is in the works it would be good sort of if they went back to the horror more than the humor.

3.Idle hands :i would love a sequal the first was smart funny and witty.

4:deep blue sea:ive heard rumors about the tv movie sequal going around but it wouldnt be any good i think if u got ll cool j back in it maybe he could be the guy like in all the sequals who warns the people but is never listened to.

4.halloween h2k /ubb/redface.gifk it needs a sequal to kill of michael for good with all the rumors it was somebody elses head k just let them have another sequel to kill him once and for all and it would be cool to see jamie lee curtis get gutted the original scream queen.

Of course, I'd love to see the "Evil Dead" series continue... maybe "Evil Dead 4: Bloodbath at S-Mart".

Although talk of a sequel is vehemently denied by both Sam Raimi and Bruce Campbell, I have a feeling that with the theatrical re-release of the series, coupled with the (totally kickass) video game, the "Evil Dead" series has not drawn it's final breath.

I think the "Hellraiser" series could work if it followed "H:Inferno's" lead and continued on as an anthology series, each movie showcasing an individual's own personal descent into hell.

A "Blair With" prequel might be pretty cool.

"Alien 5," focusing on Ripley, character development, and a great story, of course.

A sequel to John Carpenter's "The Thing" might be pretty cool, but I can't for the life of me think where they could take it.

And speaking of Carpenter, what about a sequel to "Prince of Darkness?" The ending to that one left about a million plot threads dangling, all of which could be picked up and and developed.

A sequel to "The Blob" ('88) would benefit from the CGI and all they could employ today.

And why not a sequel to Frankenheimer's eco-horror epic "Prophecy" ('79)? There are just not enough mutant bear movies in the world, by my reckoning.

I would love to see an "American Psycho II: Bateman's Back"...it would HAVE to star Christian Bale and still have Willem Dafoe as the police detective...Chloe Sevigny would still be in the picture as would Reese Witherspoon...

Why not? I mean, Bateman never got caught in the first one (since the violence WAS REAL, NOT IMAGINED)...

Patrick Bateman ("American Psycho"), could be shown in the 1990's, after he married Chloe Sevigny (his secretary) and moved out to Rhode Island (or some elitist, remote place) and continued to kill, except this time instead of explaining Huey Lewis & The News or Phil Collins before he killed and tortures his victims, he could do the same with boybands and Britney Spears...or maybe he is still in New York City, killing and wreaking havoc on a city of dirt, filth and smut...never getting caught... the ultimate killer... a yuppie John Doe...

It could really work if Christian Bale kept the intensity he showed in the original...

im not sure how a sequel to AMERICAN PSYCHO would fare..i mean, the first one wasnt that successful,so making a second one doesnt seem likely...

id like to see another CHAINSAW MASSACRE..im not talking about that ALL-AMERICAN MASSACRE movie made, but they could do a prequel or just continue on from where part 3 left off..after all,LEATHERFACE is still alive, but his family is pretty much dead..im not sure how they could do another sequle, but then again,im not a director,so...

whats everyone think about another CHAINSAW flick??

night watchman, you've read my mind! I would love to see a sequel to The Thing! That's one of my favorite movies to date. I just bought the dvd over the weekend, and the movie still rocks with the deleted scenes! I also really enjoyed the remake of The Blob, so when is the Son of Blob going to make an appearance in theatres. That would be so fucking cool! I hear they are going to make Pitch Black 2, but without the aliens..wtf are they thinking?

the night watchman
01-02-2001, 02:53 PM
Actually, fllat, I don't mind the aliens, cool as they were, being left out of the "Pitch Black" sequel. Most sequels suffer by trying to incorporate all the elements of the first movie, making the audience feel like they are just watching a retread of the original. Very rarely is a filmmaker creative enough to make the sequel an expansion of the first (James Cameron - "Aliens," Terminator 2"), or, in other words, to make the sequel's existence seem justified. So, I look forward to a sequel, or even a series, that focuses on Riddick. (And besides, it's a big universe, and probably just seething with different types of aliens. /ubb/smile.gif)

i agree with Brock about American Psycho, cos it has a very open ending that just screams 'SEQUEL!' id also like to see another Sleepaway Camp where they get Felissa Rose back to play Angela, as it has been rumoured for years that she might...

I loved AMERICAN PSYCHO, but I don't think a sequel would be a good idea, I'm sure they would just ruin it. I do however want to see a FINAL DESTINATION 2 and a 4th EVIL DEAD movie. Who's with me? EVIL DEAD 4! EVIL DEAD 4! EVIL DEAD 4!

Brock Landers
01-10-2001, 07:00 PM
I agree that "American Psycho" is not the type of movie that needs a sequel, BUT if someone had the balls to make "Carrie 2: The Rage", then they should at least give it a chance...I mean, "Carrie" should never have had a sequel...Who cares if they ruin it? I would just love to see Patrick Bateman (Christian Bale) and the same supporting cast (Willem dafoe as Detective and Chloe Sevigny as Jean) kicking ass again...with the above posted storyline...

There is no need for any sequel to any horror film anymore because the film makers can never make them right!!!!

The notable exceptions being Halloween 2 and Scream 3, the only GOOD horror sequels.

Final Destination is an excellent film, it doesn't need a sequel!!!!!!!!11

Evil Dead 4. Shocker II. Predator 3. Alien 5. Ticks II (told ya). Night of the Demons 4. Pet Sematary Three. Phantasm V. Slaughter High 2. Sleepaway Camp 4, 5 & 6. The Thing II.

01-18-2001, 12:20 PM
Most Definetely Army of Darkness 2, just because, Director Sam Raimi and Bruce Campbell make a most excellent combination. Also, another Phantasm would be glorious. I can't get enough of Reggies 4 barrelled shotgun. This isn't horror really, but the Toxic Avenger series must have another movie, even though it is low key and was made in the 80's.

Here are some im looking foward to or would like to see: (be prepared)
Halloween 8, F13 part 10, Freddy vs Jason, Phantasm 5, Slaughter High 2, Chopping Mall 2, Clownhouse 2, Tourist Trap 2, Night Of The Demons 4, Intruder 2, The Burning 2, Fright Night 3.
if i think of any more Ill let you know!

Weapon X
01-22-2001, 11:48 PM
Definitely Predator 3. Bring back Ah-nold, dag nabbit!

Alien 5 is a must, thought I believe we've seen enough of Ellen Ripley. The next Alien should create a new Ripley, a male one (as originally intended) a descendant of Ellen, and have his connection with her be part of the character development. How would it happen? Well, Ripley's husband has never once been mentioned. I reasonable explanation could be that after Ellen disappears in Aliens, her husband remarries and the family bloodline continues.

Also, I think Sam Raimi should make another Darkman movie. I loved the first one, but the next two were crap. And bring back Liam Neeson! I know he's old, but he'll be wearing makeup the whole time, so I say, what the hell?

Other than that, perhaps:

Highlander 5
Psycho 5
Mortal Kombat 3 (and make it GOOD!)

The most recent horror films in most need of a sequel are: FINAL DESTINATION, STIR OF ECHOES and UNBREAKABLE. Also, a cool idea for a final FRIDAY THE 13TH installment would be for the 13 survivors of the nine sequels journeying to Camp Crystal Lake for a group therapy session. Instead of Jason being the killer, one of these survivors could be suffering from a severe case of post-traumatic stress disorder. My money would be on Corey Feldman's creepy Tommy character. It would be worth the price of admission to see Amy Steel (the "final girl" from Part 2) kick his sorry ass!

!MorganOnyx!
01-23-2001, 03:05 PM
ANTONIO -
That is seriously a brilliant idea about the survivors from the F13 movies. But i think that they should all be there trying to conquer their fears of lakes, woods, etc and Jason comes back to get them. We would see who is the ultimate survivor! Cos obviously it wouldnt be a horror movie unless some of them got bumped off! YES!I cant believe i didnt think of that - simple but brilliant!

fllatt
01-26-2001, 03:15 PM
They can't really do this since Jason X takes place some 400 years from now. Unless they do it as a prequel to Jason X, but I don't see that happening anytime soon. Good idea though, my bet would be on Amy Steel too.

Ok, here's my list of sequels I would like to see

1. PHANTASM 5: I've loved all the others, some more than others, but over all, it's been a great series of movies. Would love to see another one. There are rumors that one is indeed in the works. Yipeee!

2. BLADE II: Cool movie. One is being made. I'm happy.

3. EVIL DEAD 4: Oh! Who doesn't want this one?

4. PUMPKINHEAD 3: Yeah, the second one sucked big time, but the first one was awsome. If only they could get the magic back.

5. UNBREAKABLE 2: not really horror, more of a sci-fi thing, but would love to see another one.

6. TREMORS 3: Love the first one, second was ho-hum, but a 3rd would be interesting to see. I want more graboids dang it!

7. CUBE: Not sure if a second one would be a good thing or not, but I do love that movie.

8. HITCHER: Another cool flick. I don't think they should do a sequel, but I've heard rumors about one. However if they do I'll see it.

9. MINUS MAN: I don't know if it would work, but I do want to see more of that character.

10. ALIEN 5: I want to see them on earth this time. That would kick arse.

11. LIFEFORCE 2: Could be interesting. Was the ending to LIFEFORCE good or bad? I just can;t really tell.

12. LOST BOYS 2: I know, they're doing that LOST GIRLS movie, but that's not what I want. I want the original actors from the first. Not some LOST BOYS rip-off.

13. PREDATOR 3: Do I need to say anything?

14. STIR OF ECHOES: There were things left unanswered in the first one. I want to see more of that group that police officer belonged to.

15. FINAL DESTINATION 2: More cheating death. Woo-whoo! Perhaps even release it on my birth day again. That was a fun treat.

16. ....OF THE DEAD: Want to see another Night or day or dawn movie. Those are great.

Great list, PRAIRIE DOG KING! I read that Sigourney Weaver is working on a script outline for ALIEN 5, when Ripley's clone and Winona Ryder's android character return to Earth, which is crawling with aliens...I just hope we're not going to see more of the same, like a White House invasion (similar to INDEPENDENCE DAY and MARS ATTACKS!) or the Statue of Liberty stuck in the sand (PLANET OF THE APES) or drifting through a tidal wave (DEEP IMPACT). I wish Ridley Scott or James Cameron would return to helm the project.

!MorganOnyx!
01-31-2001, 02:32 PM
I would like to add
TERMINATOR 3 - i think everybody wants this one
PREDATOR 3 - yeah baby, but without DANNY GLOVER
LOST BOYS 2 - Bring back the COREYS! Yes!

PRAIRIEDOGKING - PHANTASM 5 is going ahead definately! They finally have the budget they need and the ROGER AVERY script looks amazing! Check out the IMDB for minor details!

Ok, first off for some reason I thought that The Rage: Carrie 2 was way better than the original. Ok, actually, I know why, because I didn't even like the original Carrie. Sorry Carrie fans but everyone has their own taste.
Anyway, I loved Bride Of Chucky and I am happy that they're still going to make another one, and no, don't try and make it more of a horror movie like the first three. Bride Of Chucky was hilarious and I laughed my ass off and I think it's better as a comedy. I mean, how scary is a little doll killing people, not very, it's more laughable. So by making Bride Of Chucky funny they actually saved the series, it seems fresh again, I love it. I can't wait for the next one, it's supposed to be called Seed Of Chucky. Anyway, if they were to return and try and make it more like a horror movie what would be the point of the 4th one (BOC), they'd be jerking the series around from horror to in your face comedy, and that would just plain suck... Anyway, I know that a lot of people loved Bride Of Chucky a lot more than the first 3, so continue with the comedy please.

Ok, I would also ,love to see a sequel to Cherry Falls, I loved that movie and a sequel would rock. I just hope they wouldn't screw it up like most sequels...

And I am Happy that they are making a sequel to Final Destination, I loved that movie and the death scenes were cool and just the all around creepiness of it rocked. It was actually a smart movie. So I hope the sequel is just as awesome...

Thats about it though, I haven't seen VALENTINE yet but it looks awesome and maybe that should be our new horror movie series and they could release a new one every Valentines Day. All they'd have to do is find all the things that people found wrong with the first one (Valentine) and change it to make a kick ass sequel. The mask sure looks creepy. Anyway, I know they were talking about turning it into a series so we'll see what happens...

PEACE OUT!

Mike

What are you talking about Prairiedogking ?
Why do you think I'm lost. Everyone has their own opinions and taste in movies. Frankly I love all kinds of movies and all types of genres, although horror films are my favorite. Anyway, I like you would like to see a Tremors 3, the first one rocked and the second one was ok, I still think that the big worm things were cool and that they should have kept the big ones instead of having those little ones take over in the middle of the movie. Anyway, what I said earlier was my opinion and if you don't like my taste then thats fine, but it doesn't mean I'm lost. Anyway, what do you mean though, why am i lost? be more specific. There were a lot of other people that posted movies they'd like to see sequels to and they were much crazier than mine. But again, that's their opinion and I can respect other peoples opinions...
I guess some people can't...
Let me know what you meant by it though ?
I want to know why you think I'm lost...
And I'm not trying to be rude or an ass hole, I just want to know what you meant by it and why you have a problem with my taste...

So let me know...

Well for one I would not like to see any sequels to any more 90's teen slasher movies because most of them are retarded anyways.
I want violence for the sake of violence and therefore I would like to see a sequel to American Psycho, however unlikely that may be. I also would love to see a sequel to Interview with a Vampire and see what exactly happens with Lestat(since I hate reading Anne Rice). And finally I want a sequel to Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer. (I heard there was one but I also heard it sucked so perhaps a better one)

MIKE -
Hey dude i also thought CARRIE 2 was way better than CARRIE. It wasn't scary or anything just really entertaining. The characters were cool and the deaths were cooler. Just switch off your brain and drink beer type of movie. CARRIE took itself way too seriously, i hated SPACEK! I didn't sympathise with her and i love JOHN TRAVOLTA so i wanted to see him 'win'. So you could imagine my disapointment when i watched him die, even though it was obvious!
Anyway, sorry but i just can't understand everybodies 'obsession' with TREMORS. I thought it was alright, but pretty forgettable - nothing that i could ever get exited over!

Final Destination 2 is in the works.

Carrie should most definetly have a follow up exing out that modern remake sequel. (Actually i would love to write one bringing it into an innercity high school making Amy Irving the new guidance councelor who notices a quiet african american girl has gifts like Carrie and her torment is that she was raped and taped. The title "In Remeberance of Carrie White".

Pitch Black 2 is coming and will be on my high expectation list.

Another good one in need of a follow-up would be "Funhouse".

And "Def by Temptation" now that would be kind of Hype.

OH!!! Another "Jacob's Ladder"... I just love that creepy movie.

OH!!!! Oh, one more!!!
8: A new killer is making Morgan Freeman's character from "SE7EN" stay up nights as he targets eight year old boys and girls who's parents are guilty of the seven deadly sins.

That's it. But if any more come to mind, you'll know.

Mike

Thanks Morgan,
I totally agree, Carrie 2 was great and it wasn't scary but it was entertaining. And I to didn't like Spaceck that much and the girl in the second one was much better. Plus, when she gets pissed at the party in the end and shit hits the fan, well, that was just plain cool. The death scenes were awesome and some were even funny.
I least I know I'm not the only one who liked it. I had most of my friends watch it but it took a lot of convincing because they all thought the first one sucked.

The "American Psycho" sequel is called "American Psycho 2: The All-American Girl". It has almost nothing to do with the original. The girl from "That 70`s Show" plays a survivor of Patrick Bateman (not played by Christian Bale) who goes to college working under a professor (played by William Shatner) who helped catch some serial killers. And, I guess, she starts killing people to get ahead in college or something.
It`s going direct-to-video.

I'd like to see another Jaws movie. Not a sequel, and don't know if you would call it a prequal, a remake or a totally different film but Jaws was inspired by actual events that occured in New Jersey in 1916(there was even a reference in Jaws about it).I'd like to see a film about that.Getting attacked by a shark in the ocean is definetely a scary thought, but getting attacked by a shark while swimming in a river is not only scary, but unexpected as well. That's horror.

John Carpenter's The Thing II: Inspiration for a Thing II could be the comic called "The Climate of Fear" which has the return of MacReady (Kurt Russell's character).
The Blob (1988) 2: They set it up in the first film, they could just build on that.
Finally, another Watchers film: I know that sounds crazy, but if they made one based directly from the Dean R. Koontz and not screw around with what's written in it, I think that it would make a good film.

I think another installment of Jurrasic Park would be good. But it would have to be more horror focused, with really graphic intense scenes like loved ones getting eaten alive in front of their mothers etc. Loads of those "KITCHEN" scenes which were in the first one. That would be great

U guys want sequels? Why? All sequels completly suck ass(apart from Aliens,aod,ed2 and Hellraiser2 and that's only 4 I can think of). This is the reason the horror genre is never really recognized by the mainstream critics and public. They just think of horror as a bunch of shitty sequels.

u guys know that the only sequels that are going to be greenlighted are the ones we don't want to see because they suck huge african donkey cock. like the next sequel to "i know what u did last summer"..which would be aptly titled " i still know about what you assholes did the last summer before the last one and the one before that." i am sick of that shite. and WTF is up with mangler 2????? not that Tobe Hooper's Mangler is anything compared to Stephen King's story on Night Shift..but it not Unbearable (even though it's tough to see Ted Levine as a good cop after Silence...lol) but mangler 2???what does that have to do with Mr. King's story? See...it's sequels like that that causes my faith in horror sequels to slowly dwindle away....

It`s supposed to be a sequel to "Lost Boys".....but isn`t really. It`ll have all-new characters and actors. As for the plot, you can probably guess from the title.

Everyone here is saying they would love a sequel that isnt just a retread over the original maybe you guys could all pen down what you liked in the original and would like to see in the sequel for example.

1.Joyride 2 i loved the original and as all has it has enough suspense as the first i am there.

2.Jeepers Creepers 2 its already being made and many people have already read the script but i wanna wait i just hope it stays to its original roots.

3.Jason vs Freddy probably one of the most talked about sequels on this site this movie can be ubber cool i cant wait.

4.Evil Dead 4 It has to be made i loved all three of them and honestly i dont care if it is like Army of the Darkness i loved it also i think it should start with the european ending where Ash is sent way into the Apocalyptic future and he rides around in his car killing demons but thats just me im sure hardly anyone else would want that.

5.Red Dragon is being already made i cannot wait Ed norton Harvey Kietel and Anthony hopkins they are all here this movie is gonna go down in the books.

6. Blade 3 i hope this movie gets made and doesnt lose the coolness of the sequel.

Pitch Black 2 supposed begin filming as a prequel of Riddick.

Cube: Hypercube who knows when filming begins.

Freddy vs Jason scripting is being finished up.

Red Dragon. Yes a remake. Was already a film (a good one at that) called Manhunter with William Peterson (the guy from CSI)

When filming begins?? You're a little late with that one, filming finished a long time ago and I and others here have already seen the trailer. Its release is in June, 2 months away.

Could you tell the rest of us who thought the first was one of the most original films in a while where we might see this trailer. I haven't heard anything about it since they announced a planned sequel.

Firstly, I know for sure that the movie "O" had the trailers for both Cube 2 and American Psycho 2 on it, that's where I and a bunch of people saw it.
Second, check out this thread:

I would love to see these sequels. I'm a big fan of the movies. I would also like Jeepers Creepers 2, Final Destination 2 (I know they're in production), Valentine 2, Blair Witch 3. For a distant future, Scream 4.</font>

Apparently, from what I've heard, they're working on a Jeepers Creepers 2 and a Final Destination 2. Not much is known about em yet, but they've been "green lit" (okayed and ready to go).

Also, I heard reliable news about a Dracula 2000 part 2 AND 3. That was a very unknown, but very good Dracula movie IMO. If you're a vampire movie fan, it's a must-see.

NEAR DARK 2: The prequel
Let's reunite the cast of the first, and show what they were like when first turned. Then have them come to the point with Mae biting Caleb. Oh man, would it be cool to see what these vamps were like years ago. Kathryn Bigelow directs.
And no newfangled FX, just get Tom Savini.
LIFEFORCE 2-I was not satisfied by the end.
WAXWORK 3-Oooohhhh, Zach Galligan reurns as Mark, and Deb Foreman too. The others were plotless gimmicks, but enjoyable plotless gimmicks.
GREMLIN 3-More Zach Galligan and Phoebe Cates as married middle-aged couple who enconter the Gremlins. Gizmo gets laid!

They are making Freddy vs. Jason. It's been green-lit and Robert Englund himself said his schedule is being kept free and clear to be ready for it. I've read a test script and it rocked!

And Jeepers Creepers 2 is in the works, as well.

That's what *I* thought. LOL.. but apparently he has been offered a couple small films, somehow always in the horror genre (gee, I wonder WHY! LOL) like Final Destination 2, and he's turned them down to be ready for J vs. F.

I just wish they'd agree on a script and get to rollin! LOL!

Does anyone remember The zombie flicks "Dont open the window", or 1977's Shockwaves?

Both were very creepy and left open for sequals and i for one would love to see them happen.

Stagefright 2 and gremlins 3 seem come to mind .

Instead of Jason being the killer, one of these survivors could be suffering from a severe case of
post-traumatic stress disorder. My money would be on Corey Feldman's creepy Tommy character. It would be worth the price of admission to see Amy Steel (the "final girl" from Part 2) kick his sorry ass!</font>

I would love to see:

The Thing 2....They could pick up were the last one left off. Maybe a team is sent to see what happened and they find Kurt Russell as the Thing.

It 2....Tim Curry's back to play the demented clown everyone was afraid of when they were a kid.

Spawn 2.....the 1st one was one hell of a guilty pleasure for me.
