What would you think of a Scream 4?

Well, they already said they weren't going to make another one because they only wanted it to be a trilogy. But who knows since it's Hollywood and Scream 3 made money. But I still doubt they will. But actually, I have a new idea that could connect the SCREAM films to make a new horror movie. I was thinking it could be about a psycho that was obsessed with the SCREAM films and started stalking and murdering members of the casts from all three SCREAM films. Like Neve Campbell, Courtney Cox Arquette, David Arquette, Drew Barrymore, exc... And they could make it in reality, kinda what they did with Wes Cravens New Nightmare. Anyway, I actually think it would be kind of fun. And maybe in the begining the first person to be killed could be Neve Campbell. And then it would be all over the news, Neve Campbell was killed last night, bla bla exc... Anyway, they could bring back Wes Craven and Kevin Williamson to make it. It could be called SCREAM: HOLLYWOOD, just an idea. It would be better than making a 4th SCREAM movie. Don't get me wrong, I loved the SCREAM series but I'm glad they quit while they were ahead. A 4th one would really wear it out. But I do think we need a new horror series, a really good one, SCREAM was great, we need a new one now, one that's actually smart. I think that might be FINAL DESTINATION, they are coming out with a sequel to that, I just hope they don't screw it up, the first one was great...
We'll see what happens........

Sounds like a rip-off of "Blair Witch 2: Book Of Shadows"...I mean with the storyline being someone obsessed with fictional film characters who were involved in a fictional film...like a slasher within a slasher full of slashers...I suppose that after that one they could do "Scream 5", and have a psycho killing the psycho who kills the psycho in the original film with the dead psycho, and top it off with a psycho fan of the latest psycho...uh-uh...bad idea...good thought though bra...(smile)

Anyway, WES CRAVEN has made it clear he has no intentions in the near future of making another SCREAM flick. However, because SCREAM 3 did quite well he wouldn't rule it out in a good few years if the right script etc came along. But, DIMENSION films own the SCREAM franchise anyway and the WEINSTEIN brothers may well decide to make another with new director, writer and cast in the near future. Watch this space....

Hey, thanks Arrow, I don't think it's that bad of an idea either (Of course I wouldnt because I thought of it). Anyway, I thought Blair Witch 2 was awesome and Wes Cravens New Nightmare kicked major ass, and my idea would be way better than a SCREAM 4. I think it would be a really cool movie if handled right. Anyway, it was just an idea. At least I know that not everyone thinks it's a bad idea.

I personally hope that they let sleeping corpses lie and keep the Scream series in post mortem for at least five years...that's usually the best way to revive a series, give it some time. If Craven rushes it, it will probably suck...

I forgive you Morgan, we all have our own opinions right, anyway, it was just an idea... I don't really think you have bad taste, I didn't like the Exorcist or Psycho either, but I thought the Sixth Sense was pretty good. It wasn't scary though... I haven't seen Slaughter High or Chopping Mall yet but I have seen them at the video store and I've thought about picking them up but then I decide not to get them and I rent something else. Are they really good ?
I also haven't seen Halloween 3: Season Of The Witch, I've also thought about renting that but then I decide not to, is that any good? Maybe sometime in the future I'll have to rent them, I rent quite a few movies. So, we'll see... Anyway, no hard feelings Morgan, I don't mind that you had an opinion on my idea, it's not like I posted it expecting not to get any criticism, you're entitled to your own opinion just like me and everyone else. Knowing that you have the luxury to be able to rent those movies out (they all disappeared from my town a LONG time ago and i CANNOT get hold of them). I STRONGLY RECOMMEND you rent out:

SLAUGHTER HIGH
CHOPPING MALL
CLOWNHOUSE

as SOON as possible. CHOPPING MALL, is by all means not a good movie, but i love it. It's great fun. Same goes for SLAUGHTER HIGH. Wicked death scenes! These 2 films are the sort you should watch with your mates and have a laugh! CLOWNHOUSE, however, is an excellent movie. Pure example of suspense and tension. Don't ask me what it's about, JUST GET IT, and watch it when you're alone in the house, 2am, all lights off. You will not be disappointed!

I wanted to see Clownhouse but a friend and I went to the video store this last weekend and I was looking for it but they don't have it. They do have Chopping Mall and Slaughter High though and I probably will check those out. I hope they're good. It's hard to watch movies with friends and not make fun of them, which I think is actually better than actually watching them, depending on the movie. Anyway, I don't mind renting a movie thats so bad it's funny. So, I'll have to check them out. Thanks for the recommendations ...

I think a Scream 4 is a huge mistake if it happens. 1st off, they killed the only 2 people I liked from the 3 films already, Randy and Cotton. I mean, god, Cotton didn't last 15 minutes in the 3rd and he saved the day in the 2nd. Whats next? Kill Dewey for living in all 3, even though he now resembles a human pin cushion? What they will probably do with this series is fuck it up like they did with all the others.
Chucky, Halloween, Nightmare, Hellraiser, Phantasm, Friday 13th, Leprachaun....... They will probably drag this series out to 6 films just to piss people off.

Jackson, HELLRAISER does not belong in the category that you had previously brought up, as they are making a strong effort to ressurect the series with story and brains, you can't take that for granted. Did you even give INFERNO a chance?
As far as Clown House goes, if you haven't seen this movie, you have no idea what you are missing, it is a truely well done horror movie. The Horror Show is pretty good as well, even though it was a box office bomb, and a slight Shocker rip off, give it a chance, as it was much better than Shocker.
As for Scream 4 . . . I don't even begin to know where to begin. It might work if they found a new formula to work off of, but that is extremely hard for Slasher films in a series. Given that, I really don't know that it would be a good idea. Wes really does need a new bag . . . how about a sequel to Deadly Friend? /ubb/wink.gif

im in two minds here, i would like to see another scream movie, but i dont think it is possible after the 3rd, and from what others having being saying i doubt very much another one could be made although it would be good for neve to get killed. I thought the second scream was the worst out of all of them, and ending the 3rd the way it did, i dont think myself or anyone else could believe that there would be another psyco out there trying to kill neve and i reckon it would just ruin what is a pretty cool trilogy.

I don't think scream 4 four would be a good idea. It looks like they are running out of ideas to put in their movies. If scream 4 is a big embarasment it'll make the rest of the series look bad. IF Scream 4 is bad the people who made the movie will try to forget about scream 4 and pretend it wasn't a part of the series. But then again ther is that big IF. Scream 4 could also be one of the biggest movie hits of the year. Personally I think if they make another scream it is not only going to be an embarasment to the series but also to all horror movies.

I like Mike's idea and not to be better then him or anything but i think they should make the idea of a writer of a magazine should interview Sid about her mother's death and most of the story should center on her mother then kill her off. Then Sidney will go back home living with Dewy, Gale, and Kincaid, then Roman will come back (Randy could be right, the killer is superhuman) and kill the 4 of them and then go for the writer but she will be the hero. What do you all think?

I too liked Mike's idea and think it would be pretty fun. i once read a hilarious fan script with ghostface trying to break into Wes Cravens house but was taken out by a security laser device. It turned out to be Edddie Murphy for revenge on Vampire in Brooklyn. Another idea I heard was that Roger Jackson (Phone voice) was the one killing the cast cos he never got credit for being the "true" ghostface. Write it down Mike. i dig the idea too

I was joking about having randy return but looking at my post i could see it was prob hard to tell. I was saying that they killed off the best character in the series in part 2 and no one else was worth bringing back for a fourth and that they start fresh.
