I'm really hoping that the sequel to The Phanton Menace won't be a let down, but the chances of it being a horrid movie is still there.

What do you guys think about the upcoming movie?

There's always a chance any sequel will be horrid but w/ George Lucas at the helm, the chances diminish. I'd say it'll be enjoyable no matter what. I mean we'll always be fans!

Couldn't say until the movie has actually been released and I've seen it. I'm not clairvoyant, after all.

From the series story point of view, The Phantom Menace has perhaps the most dull story to tell. Now it gets exciting, the Clone Wars are beginning, Anakin is slowly fighting those mixed emotions, The Emperor is making a further step to domination, and there is the detereorating relationship between Anakin and Obi Wan which interests me the most.
Personally, i think Episode III will be far more dramatic than any of the other Episodes, but i seriously think neither Episode II or III will be a threat to the superiority of The Empire Strikes Back.

I have a feeling this will be the best of the 'SECOND' trilogy. Just like 'Empire' was (Sorry fans of the original) for the first trilogy. There is so much story going on in Episode II, and it will have a darker tone than that of The Phantom Menace. I can't wait!!!!! This is my first most anticipated film followed by the Matrix sequels.

And to all who think 'Attack of the Clones' is a bad title, I think it is a good choice because it goes to show what Lucas said about choosing titles that resembled those of the old Saturday Matinee Serials, and this title definitely pays homage to those. Isn't 'A New Hope' a horrible title for the first Star Wars? Attack of the Clones is a great title. I don't know what you guys are whinin' about. At least Lucas is making the movies, I think he has the right to choose the title.

Hehehe. If Jimmy Smits is in it, I'm all down!

People had a probably with The Phantom Menace as the title for Episode I but it was a great title. Did it fit the movie, not exactly, because the title was one of darkness and the film was far from that.

But "Attack of the Clones" is an awful title. Fifty years ago, this title would have ruled, but today, it's crap. I understand he's paying homage to Saturday Matinees, but the title just doesn't sit well with most people. Will it fit the movie? Yes. Because after all, it's the Clone Wars and clones will attack. LOL But let's hope that this is a Working Title.

"Attack of the Clones" = Disappointing

I've heard a lot of people saying that The Empire Strikes Back was the best of the first Star Wars Trilogy.

I have to disagree with that for I felt that The Return Of The Jedi was the best.

I never got into any of the Star Wars series...

I guess Im the only one. I thought the Phantom Menace sucked. Thats why im going to avoid Attack of the Clones and the sequel that follows.

I respect it for being a classic from which many movies branched off from, but thats all it is to be...history.

You never know, The Attack Of The Clones could become an instant classic.

I really don't think we know enough about it as this point to make a deciscion one way or the other.

Guess you're right.

We'll just have to wait and see how it does.

well, i will have to say Attack of the Clones will probably be the best of the 3. Probably for the same reasons Empire was absolutely the best of the 1st trilogy.
And as for the Phantom Menace well. The first time i saw it i was disappointed. however, the more i watch it the better it becomes and has finally made into my top 50 favs. Particularly, because of the way it starts tying in with the other films.

as Dennis Miller would say "thats just my opinion" "i could be wrong"

i think that just as "a new hope" was more or less an intro to the original trilogy, the same holds true for "the phantom menace".

sure the story lacked, but its purpose was to set up the events of the next movie. a foreshadowing.

episode II is where things will pick up.

Overall, i believe that Episode III will definately be the most dramatic of the entire six part series. Episode III will perhaps include the epic battle between Obi Wan Kenobi and Anakin (Who may already be Darth Vader, but not in the form we know him), and the last move of the Emperor's revealing plans to take over the galaxy.

James Earl Jones has also mentioned that he has been approached by Lucas to do roughly ten minutes of dialogue for the end of Episode III, which means Vader (in the form we know him) will definately make an appearance.
