Easily the most enjoyable of PT Anderson's films, IMHO. Phillip Baker Hall is great and a tower of strength in the lead role. John C Reilly has never been better in his great portrayal of a loser on a winning streak and the most impressive of all is Gwyneth Paltrow. She was terrific. She was this movie in my eyes. Thoroughly entertaining.

Samuel L Jackson eats the screen up as usual and provides some great acting.

I didn't mind Boogie Nights, I thought it was a touch, well, dumb. But I thought Magnolia was better and I rented Hard Eight for curiousitys sake and would now say that Hard Eight is one of my all time favorites.

Highly Under appreciated HARD EIGHT certainly lives up to the quality in both storyteling & camera technique of both BOOGIE NIGHTS & MAGNOLIA.

A truly unique body of work from a gifted director who stil has much to offer.

HARD EIGHT is an insight into things to come. Good work Love Broker.

Why was Boogie Nights dumb? I can easily understand if someone finds it messy and boring (I don't), but how can you think it's dumb?

I just thought that the story was stupid and unnessacary but the acting was good.

I just did not see the need for it.
