It's almost here!!! Oct.12! Delayed i think but i'll wait.

Those who have seen it, Iron Monkey will be a must see on the big screen.

For those who haven't seen it, it will be a lesson of what a real action/kung fu movie should be.

American movies have tried to imitate but have never duplicated the mastery of HK cinema.

Just look at the clip with the female lead. The fight was stolen almost scene for scene by drew in charlies angels.

Hmm, I saw the trailer and to me it seems like they are just trying to capitalize on CTHD's success...and I only thought that movie was good at a 7/10. Movin' on...

of course they are only trying to cash in on the whole CTHD craze...but that doesn't mean this movie doesnt fucking rule! i own it on DVD, and actually still want to see it on the big screen badly, but i was wondering...does anyone know if it will be dubbed or subtitled? both are fine with me, but my DVD is dubbed, and i saw it at the video store subtitled...so, just wondering.

THANKFULLY I BELIVE IT WILL BE SUBTITLED.

AND YES zib, THIS IS IN FACT AN OLDER MOVIE. ALL BUT HARDCORE HK CINEMA FANS PROBABLY HAVE NEVER SEEN IT OR EVEN HEARD ABOUT IT.

I TOO HAVE THE DVD, BUT WITH A LOT OF LANGUAGE AND SUB TITLE OPTIONS THOUGH... HAD TO ORDER IT ONLINE CAUSE ABSOLUTELY NO STORES CARRIED IT. A FEW SMALL ASIAN RENTAL SHOPS HAVE IT ON VHS ... BUT USUALLY POOR QUALITY.

CTHD... IRON MONKEY IS ONE OF MANY, MANY WHAT HK ACTION FILMS THAT HAVE PAVED THE PATH FOR WHAT IS BECOMING THE NEW STANDARD FOR FIGHTING STYLE IN AMERICAN FILMS. DO YOU KNOW WHY?... HK CINEMA HAVE ALWAYS DONE IT SO MUCH BETTER.

THINK ABOUT IT... ALL THE CROSS OVER SUCESS OF JACKIE CHAN, JET LI... EVEN DIRECTORS & ACTION CHOREOGRAPHERS, JOHN WOO, COREY YUEN, YUEN WOO PING, AND OTHER YUEN BROTHERS... TSUI HARK ETC...AND EXTENSIVE STUNT TEAMS WHO MAKE THIS WORK BEHIND THE SCENES

DO YOU KNOW WHY?...BECAUSE NO ONE IN THE WORLD CAN MATCH THEIR EXPERTISE AND EXPERIENCE WITH THE ACTION GENRE.

I SAY ITS ABOUT TIME THEY GOT SOME RECOGINTION! THE FEW BIG HK CINEMA NAMES I MENTIONED HAVE MADE AN INCREDIBLE AMOUNT OF FILMS THAT HAVE NEVER SEEN THE LIGHT HERE. WHICH IS A SHAME CAUSE MANY OF THEM ARE GREAT FILMS.

BE ON THE LOOK OUT FOR DONNIE YEN, ONE OF THE STARS OF IRON MONKEY. HE WAS THE HIGHLIGHT THE HORRIBLE HIGHLANDER: END GAME. I SAY HE WILL BE THE NEXT BIG CROSSOVER STAR IF SOMEONE WILL JUST RECOGNIZE HIS TALENT.

IF YOU ARE EVEN REMOTELY A FAN OF ACTION/MARTIAL ARTS MOVIE FAN, THIS IS A MUST SEE.

Thanx master for ur confirmation. And i agree with u that HK make the best action/martial arts movies in the world. Thats why america has begun to make so many HK style movies, with HK stars such as jet lie and jackie chan. And now the legend himself, john woo is makin american films. Its nice to see america aknowledging HK cinema by wanting HK stars in their films, directors, fight coregraphers, etc. Its the way of the future i believe. And in regards to iron monkey, im sure as hell gonna see it when it comes out here.

I have never seen this movie before and am looking forward to seeing it. But PLEASE tell me it doesn't have any stupid-ass flying shit like that Crouching Piece of Crap movie! That would totally bash all of my high expectations.

they do use wire work, like in crouching tiger but... they do it so much better.

no actual flying like in CT, it is used more to assist the martial artists.

but remember this is based on chinese folklore, mystical shaolin warriors...

faries, trolls, wizards... never seem to be questioned for authenticity or realism!

but when people see a movie like this, right away they say, "that is so fake!"

well everything in folklore and fairy tales probably had some truth to it, it has just been exagerated through story.

i mean c'mon trolls(midgets right), wizards(david copperfield type guys)...

but the kung fu warriors were based on guys who could really kick some ass!!! and some of the flying wire work stuff isn't too far off. just search for some videos on "wushu".

wushu is the martial art that jet li is a champion in. and also donnie yen, star of iron monkey.

just check it out and see what i mean...
