I tell you, this movie is gonna be great! It's gonna get Academy Awards and all and it's gonna be one of the best biopics ever. You'll see it will be like OUT OF SIGHT for Jennifer Lopez: people will realize that Will Smith, another actor-singer, can REALLY act if he wants to!
I'm so impatient to see that flick...

I completely, totally agree with you that Will Smith can act. It`s enough to see him in "Six grades of separation" to know this. And of course, I agree with you that "Ali" will be great. At least I haven`t seen a bad Michael Mann`s movie. But, unfortunatelly, I`ll have to discourage you about the awards. The thing it`ll be a great movie only shows it`ll lose most of the categories. But it`ll also show that maybe it`ll be the best. http://www.joblo.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

GANGS OF NEW YORK,OCEAN'S ELEVEN and ALI are the movies I'm excited for! I can't wait for it since I am a sports fan and maybe ALI will be a good homage to the Bumblebee! http://www.joblo.com/ubb/wink.gif

Ali will be great and Will Smith will, indeed, finally prove to everyone that he can act. I'm looking forward to this movie EVEN THOUGH Jamie Foxx is in it. http://www.joblo.com/ubb/wink.gif
The writer/director is Michael Mann. That's really cool, since the last three projects he wrote were The Insider (I gave 9/10), Heat (9/10) and The Last of the Mohicans (I didn't see, but I've only heard good things).

After having seen both trailers for Ali, I just can't get hyped up about it. The trailers suggest nothing great, and they really aren't that good anyway. But I will see it when it comes out. My anticipation is leaning towards Ocean's 11, The Lord of the Rings, A Beautiful Mind, and Royal Tenenbaums.
It is just too bad that GANGS OF NEW YORK got pushed back to 2002, and the press just released that DiCaprio was bad mouthing the movie. Can you believe that. A guy who made a crappy movie called The Beach is saying a Scorsese picture is bad, ?????? And on top of that, he just wants a lump sum payment instead of a percentage of the grosses. That pisses me off. I was really looking forward to that.
And by the way, The Last of the Mohicans is a pretty good movie, as good as Michael Mann's other two films this past decade.
And Will Smith did a really good job acting in The Legend of Bagger Vance, did anyone seem to overlook that.
