I am currently reading The Felloship of the Ring and it is fantastic! I love it soo much. But will the movie be as good as the book? It has been very hard to make movies from books but i hope this one does a good job. What do you have too say about this?
As of now this is un-answerable, but, in my totally honest opinion, looks to be the greatest film experience of all time.
I've lowered my hype a lot as from the moment i first saw the new trailer, it will probably pick up again shortly, hopefully.
I hope that there is NOT another trailer before December the 19th, i don't want to see anymore, i just want to see the final masterpiece.

No chance in hell they'll be as good as the books. But that's okay - few other books are even close to being as good as said books.
I'll be satisfied with a good translation to the big screen so my imagination can be realized.

I never read the books, and don't have any plans to... but the films look absoluetly amazing! I can't wait. The new trailer was just as good, if not better, than the first. I'll be at the theatre as soon as possible!

Wow, that's one hell of a recommendation. Anyway, the general rule is that the movie is never as good as the book. While that can (occasionally) be argued, it's more or less the truth. However, if any movie has the potential to match it's source material, this is definatly it.

Hey there Mark,
Like you, I just started reading the fellowship of tht ring, and like you, I love it. If the movie turns out to be anything close to what the book is then it will be the best sci fi of all time.
It's fantasy not science fiction.

I have a strange feeling that Peter Jackson made this trailer to lower the hype a little bit. I think he might have been worried that it was getting too much hype and decided to temporarily sedate his fans by giving them alot more than what they expected and hinting at many of the major scenes. I dont think it will work though. Im sure the hype will pick up again and it will probably be worse than before. Or maybe im just an idiot,....... who knows??
If the movies are half as good as the books then they will be the best movies of all time.
The trilogy is arguably the greatest books of all time. I'd agree with that one.
I think the movie is gonna be awesome. The trailers were great and I hope it makes a lot of money so people can see the movie and witness how great these stories are. Then, people will buy the books and read them.

Ak- I understand that the book is fantasy, but I got the book at Borders and they don't have a fantasy section, only science fiction and so I just went with that- my mistake!

I read the books over the summer and they were great... the movie looks to be most excellent as well, but I have purposly avoided seeing anything about it so not to ruin the movie going experience when it comes out. My expectations are high, but not so high as to be easily disappointed.
The books are pretty good.

It cannot be as good. Anyway I'm waiting for more than a year for that movie and we are getting close to December 19th. I'll be there.
