Is anyone else looking forward to this (rumored?) adaptation of "American McGee's Alice"? Personally, I'm curious for a number of reasons. For one thing, it's just a cool concept (Alice is released from an insane asylum and returns to Wonderland, only to find that the whole place has gone straight to hell without her. Very dark and vivid). Plus, with video game movies getting no respect (and rightfully so in most cases), Alice is a promising prospect to finally bring video games into the world of mainstream entertainment. Last but definatly not least, I'm very interested to see how this dark and fucked-up story will do with a mainstream audience.
Any thoughts, any news, (any confirmation?)?

I saw the videogame in a store and it looked very cool and with a very interesting plotline (Wonderland isn't so wonderful anymore...) Any word on who might be writing the script?

Actually it is in the script-writing stage as of right now. Here is some of the information I have found;

Other information for a rumoured starring role is Natalie Portman or Heather Donahue (Blair With Project). And that is pretty much all the useful informationg I could find.

Yeah, the game looks totally sick, with a twisted concept. It would definitely make a great movie!

Perfect for Alice is, of course, Natalie Portman

The game is amazing to say the least, I just hope the movie will be even better.

But I have some questions.

Why does Wes Craven suck?
Who is John August and what did he do?

Natalie Portman: Perfect, absoloutly perfect! I was thinking Christina Ricci myself, but Portman is a better choice.

Craven: Cool. I think Tim Burton or Clive Barker would be better choices, but you can't argue with the man responsible for both Nightmare on Elm Street and Scream.
