Horrible movie. Acting- SUCKED. Marlon Wayans kept the film alive, and they went and killed him off. The plot was weak, just pure logic kept getting in the way of the totally unlogical movie. Example, the one Ripley or whatever dude somehow had the keys to open the cell, but they never showed how he got them. I don't understand the ending, how they al turn into faeries and just fly away. Overall, terrible movie. The 3 is just for Marlon Wayans, he was the only good actor in the whole damn movie. Anyone wanna second me?

No words exist in any language which properly stress how bad this movie really was, nor is there a number low enough to depict an accurate score. 0/10 isn't really allowed, but man I wish it was.

I kind of want to see it because JOBLO gave it a positive review and a buddy of mine said it was good. But now I'm not so sure...
What should I do? It can't be that bad can it?

Oh yes it can be that bad. It is the worst movie I have ever seen. JoBlo has his opinion, and 99% of the time his opinions are right on the money of most peoples, but the majority of people who saw this movie say it sucked. Marlon Wayans is a great actor, but this movie probably could have ruined his career if he wasn't already so well established as a comedian/actor. This movie is not worth buying, not even worth renting, it is horrible, just truly horrible. I've never seen a worse movie. Ever.

No offense, but I'd hardly call Marlon Wayans a great actor.

Hector...
In a previous post(on the miscellaneous board, under the "Who should win the "Best Video" at this years MTV VMA'S) you slammed Christopher Walken...basically saying that he sucked.
That, in and of itself, is fucking ludicrous, and seriously compromises your cache when talking film.
And, as if that statement wasn't enough...
You now claim that Marlon Wayans is a "great" actor?!!??!? Uh-huh, you got a point there, Hector.
So, let's recap for all the kids out there, shall we?
Walken=Bad
Wayans=Good.
No need to further slag you on this viewpoint, you do a good job of it on your own by making the observation.
oh, the fucking humanity...

Oh, yeah...by the way...
"Dungeons and Dragons" sucked MAJOR ass.
Even the presence of the enchanting Thora Birch couldn't save it.
why, Thora, why?

Rock on Von! I'm with you 100 percent!

How can you say Marlon Wayans is a great actor and call Chris Walken bad?!

DUNGEONS & DRAGONS (2000)

Make no mistake about it, this is definitely a BAD movie. The acting is atrocious and the whole thing is cheesy as hell, with plot holes to boot and things that just don't make sense. This movie doesn't really seem to have a purpose. I can't see how these people could not know they were making a bad movie, which leads me to think that maybe it's just really bad on purpose?! Probably not, but you'd sure think it was, because I don't see how anyone could think this was actually going to be a quality movie.

The acting was so horrible. Even the talented Thora Birch manages to be bad here. It was like it was a vacation for her from movies where she actually has to do a good job. She basically just stumbles through this, not even trying to give a decent performance. Hell, next to everyone else here, she could have given a performance that would have looked Oscar-worthy. But you could tell she wasn't really "into" it, and was just there to cash a paycheck. It's not like it would have saved the movie if she would have given a good performance anyway. Justin Whalin gives a truly terrible performance in some scenes. The part after *********SPOILERS*********Snails (Wayans) dies*********END SPOILERS********* and he breaks down and yells, I could hardly hold myself back from cracking up laughing. That was just so cheesy over-the-top. Then there's a couple of more scenes where he really goes beyond horrible. I actually didn't mind him much at first, but then at about the halfway point I thought he got just plain AWFUL. However, the absolute worst and most over-the-top performance comes from Jeremy Irons as Profion. OH MY GOD was he so BAD. Right from the beginning he was just plain CHEESY, except even cheesy seems like too tame of a word to describe it. He gave new meaning to the word cheesy. I don't think words can explain just how truly terrible and hilariously HORRIBLE his performance is. I was in disbelief. This has to be one of the worst performances I have ever seen in a movie.

Despite how truly bad this movie is, I was still never really bored. It was actually somewhat entertaining. It would also be a fun movie to make fun of with friends. This movie can be downright HILARIOUS! It is just such a BAD BAD BAD movie. It is full of cheese, cheese, and extra cheese. Don't take my rating the wrong way, this is a bad movie by all means. However, it was entertaining trash, and perfect to laugh at.

Grade: 5/10 (C-)
