Michael Mann’s gripping cops and robbers epic about a professional thief (Robert DeNiro) being trailed by a hard nosed detective (Al Pacino). A fascinating and probing character study with breathtaking action sequences brilliantly captured by Mann, with beautiful cinematography, and one of the best shootouts ever. A film so good it brought DeNiro and Pacino together, but they share precious little screen time. Well developed characters, Mann’s stylish direction, and powerful script make this tale of crime and obsession a must see. Michael Mann proves himself as one of the most brilliant and underrated filmmakers working today. What do you guys think?

You know we agree 100% on this one. Hands down, my all-time favorite movie. The perfect film. Nothing else comes close. Michael Mann is god. I can't rave enough about this movie. If you haven't seen it yet, go to the video store now.

I saw this on Sunday and it's a great action movie with a good plot, and good acting. Pacino and DeNiro, like always give solid performances and prove why they are my favorite actors. It is definately worth watching. I give it 8/10.

This is one of my favorites...great acting, great character development, great story. Its not the standard "cops and robbers" fare..

Pizowell...this was "movie of the week" a couple days ago...you should check it out in the "Movie of the week" forum. =)

A **** movie all the way. Not to take anything away from Robert DeNiro who is excellent too(as usual), but Al Pacino particulary blew me away with a bravura turn here. The supporting cast is excellent too. Containing the likes of Val Kilmer, Ashley Judd, Tom Sizemore, Jon Voight and Natalie Portman among others. And even though there is not much action in this three-hour opus this is still a tense and exciting plot. And what action there is, is sharply executed. A great crime thriller anyway you put it.

This is one of my favourite movies for all times.Three days ago I saw it for 17th time, I guess, and it`s still interesting to me.Michael Mann`s definitely one of the greatest directors, and Pacino and De Niro give great performances, really. The cinematographer Dante Spinotti is terrific, too.No doubts -10/10.

One of the top ten shoot-outs ever. The shoot-out alone is worth watching the whole movie.Val Kilmer is the best of the shooters.I think his intensity is what drives that scene.

I really love this movie too. DeNiro and Pacino are probably my 2 favorite actors. Actually this movie doesn't seem long enough because there are so many characters and situations that could have been developed even more. Anyway, I'm nitpicking. I'd give it a 9/10.
