Title: Fear
Stars: Reese Witherspoon, Mark Wahlberg, Alyssa Milano, William Petersen, and Amy Brenneman
Runtime: 1 Hour and 37 Minutes
This was Reese Witherspoon's first major movie and she's had a fantastic career so far. Not only is Reese cute and charming as hell, she can also act. This movie didn't turn out to be a major blockbuster hit for her, but it's still a damn good movie.
In this suspense thriller Reese stars as Nicole Walker, a 16 year old girl who falls for an older guy named David (Mark Wahlberg). At first David seems like the perfect guy. He's charming, sweet, and attractive, but Nicole will soon find out that David has a dark side. He'll do almost anything to be with her, like the tagline says, "Together Forever. Or Else." Nicole's father (William Petersen) is suspicious of him from the start and doesn't like his daughter being with him, but he can't stop them from being together... Will Nicole come to her senses and leave David, or will her relationship with him put her and her family in danger? The answer to that is pretty obvious, but it's still fun to watch.
Reese Witherspoon gives a good performance, it's not as great as the one she gives in ELECTION, but you can't expect it to be either. Alyssa Milano also does a nice job as Nicole's best friend. So, how is Mark Wahlberg as a psycho? Really good, he did an excellent job. The rest of the cast also does a very nice job.
Fear is a good thriller that should keep you on the edge of your seat. At least it did the first time I saw it back in 96'.
Fear also features a killer soundtrack. If you're a fan of thrillers or are a fan of anyone in the cast, there's no reason not to see this movie.
Grade: 8/10
