Hmmm... I haven't seen anyone talk about The Perfect Storm yet. What did you all think? I didn't like it that much. Too much hype. All the movie is is special effects.

I cant say that I liked this film. I cant say that I hated it. I guess Im ambivalent. The fx were pretty cool, yet I dont think the script and actors did justice to the real people behind this story. I give it a Twister.....No No maybe a Dante's Peak

I would probably give it a 7/10 maybe 6.5./10 I though it was pretty good but nothing spectacular. It was however effective in the way that it made me feel like I couldn't breathe. I liked the all the actors on the boat especially John C. Reilly but thought the women in the film were sub-par. And of course it had great special effect.

Grym, other than some minor implausiblities, I acutally liked Dante's Peak. :O

Quentin, you didn't think Elizabeth M. did a good job? I thought she was excellent and was disappointed that she did not get more air time or more character development... not like character development was a main factor in the movie though. /ubb/wink.gif

I agree with Quentin. Although I may have liked it a little more than him. It's not a bad movie though. The let the storm take control which really helped. And at least with the women in the film they didn't have much screen time where they could bring the film down a little more.

I absolutely loved 'The Perfect Storm'. I thought the storm scene is probably the best action scene in a film this year. It was breathtaking, spectacular, and so far one of the best films of 2000 (come on besides this there is American Psycho, and Gladiator. Oh and for Quentin there is Wonder Boys). I would probably give it a 9/10, and A-. It was thouroughly entertaining and I never once was bored. The effects were extraoridinary and the acting was really good for a summer action film.
