Happy Gilmore (1996)
This is a fun movie. I don't know how many times I've seen it now, but it never ceases to amuse me. There's a cute story, a great character in the very angry Happy Gilmore, excellent one-liners and a superb cast of supporting characters.
Christopher McDonald triumphs as Shooter McGavin, Carl Weathers is perfect as the golf pro ("Spoken like a true asshole!") and Ben Stiller, just hilarious as the sadistic orderly. Just pure, unadulterated fun!
And let's not forget the whole Bob Barker bit ("The price is wrong, bitch!"). Am I the only prick who thinks this movie is the best of Sandler's bunch!?
Some of my favorite lines:
McGavin: I eat pieces of shit like you for breakfast!
Gilmore: You eat pieces of shit for breakfast?!
Grandma: Sir, can I trouble you for a warm glass of milk? It helps me go to sleep.
Orderly: You can trouble me for a warm glass of shut-the-hell-up! Now, you will go to sleep or I will put you to sleep. You're in my world now, grandma.
Stars Adam Sandler, Christopher McDonald, Julie Bowen, Carl Weathers

As much of a typically unfunny dink Adam Sandler is - this movie is extremely funny. Definitely the result of an excellent set of supporting characters... I expecially liked Joe Flaherty's roll, "Jackass!" Christopher MacDonald is perfect, and Ben Stiller is excellent indeed.
Film fact: this film was shot in Vancouver, BC - much of it at the Point Grey Golf & Country Club. Many friends of mine, including my girlfriend at the time, are in the gallery for many of the scenes... I was stuck at a lame-ass day job.

This is the only Sandler flick I've ever watched multiple times, and I could enjoy watching this one several more times. But I gotta add my favorite lines to the list...
McDonald: Just stay out of my way. Or you'll pay. Listen to what I say.
Sandler: How about I just go eat some hay. I can make things out of clay and lay by the bay, I just may. Whaddaya say?

This is the only Sandler flick I saw. Very, very funny. And I just love that weird little midget in his "Happy Place".

I own this movie, its brutally hilarious and features a great ensemble cast including Ben Stiller as the hilarious orderly.
I think the funniest part of the entire movie was when Happy was in the batting cage taking shots off the chest...then he leaves and the kid tries it, and gets nailed. Bloody Hilarious.
Im debating if this or Wedding Singer was Sandler's best movie
YOUR DAMN RIGHT ITS AN 8/10! Yea...that's right!
No but seriously this movie is the coolest. I think Sandler did really well in this movie. THe best part in the movie is this (and I know I screwed up the lines:
McGavin: you just stay away from me ok? Listen to what I say.
Gilmore: Why don't I just go eat some hay? We can live by the bay, make things out of clay, we just may! what do you say!?
That is too damn funny. THis movie is the coolest.

This movie was definatly better than "The Legend of Bagger Vance" (3/10). It (Happy Gilmore)was funny and interesting, things I like in a movie. One of Sandlers best pieces (that ain't much comin from me considering I've only seen Waterboy and Happy Gilmore)...

Was going to do a capsule on this but found JoBlo's original. I'd give it 7.5/10
This is Sandler with a decent script. His schtick felt original and entertained (unlike his newer stuff...ie THe Waterboy).
Sandler makes a boring game fun. Golf needs Sandler's take on it. Add in heckling, beer guzzling fans, and a fight with Bob Barker. Mindless fun indeed but so much better than most comedies produced today. Sorry Quentin, but the guy can make me laugh.
I rememer first watching the film about 4am while waiting in line for concert tickets. The guy behind me in line had the set-up...a tv/vcr combo †hat could be plugged into an adapter in his car. I just remember having laughing †ø*ståy wårm in 30 degree weather at lines like "You eat pieces of shit for breakfast?"

The great thing about Billy Madison and Happy Gilmore, is that they are funny after the second time.
Can't say the same about Adam's later work...
8.5/10 for Gilmore

I loved Happy Gilmore, it is and will always be my favorite Adam Sandler film. Even though there is no Steve Buscemi in this Sandler flick, I still enjoy it. I agree with JoBlo's rating 8/10.

Being a fan of Hockey, Golf and Adam Sandler made this one of my favorite comedies to date. And how many movies have Bob Barker engaging in a fist fight /ubb/biggrin.gif Everytime I watch this movie I laugh my ass off and I am sure I will continue to do so for many years to come.
This is Sandler at his absolute Best.

You eat pieces of shit for breakfast?
Yes that is a hilarious line, one of the best in the movie! I also love the part when he rhymes everything with "ay". The reason that Happy Gilmore works is because of its parody of golf, which works because golf is such a stuck-up and boring game. It's great when all the rednecks show up to see Happy play like they're watching a NASCAR race or something. I love it when he gets those checks for coming in 47th place and stuff. This is Sandler's greatest role, and McDonald is great as Shooter McGavin too. Also I never knew Ben Stiller was the Orderly; that's just one more reason to think the guy's great. And of course there is Bob Barker's cameo which is great too (The price is wrong, bitch!) How the Price is Right geezer agreed to this, I'll never know. Overall, 8/10.

This is a fun, cheeky comedy with excellent ideas and fantastic one-liners. I really enjoyed its sense of humour and it is much better than Sandler's later work. 8/10.

This also is one of my favorite Sandler movies, it is right up there with Billy Madison and Airheads. I loved everything in this movie, especially "The price is wrong, bitch!" and "Suck my white ass!" This is truly a good comedy, and Ben Stiller, Adam Sandler, and everyone are hilarious in this movie. I would give it a 9/10.

9/10 Definately Sandler's best, and one of my favorite comedies. I give it a high mark because it is one of the most rewatchable movies I own, and never fails to make me laugh.
"I HATE that Bob Barker"
"So instead of hitting him you hit Bob Barker? Who won that fight anyway?"
"You're gonna DIE CLOWN"
"What's the matter, are you too good for your home? Suck my white ass ball"

Strangely, this flick was on the box last night.
Whilst I was watching it, I could help but realise how much my toenails needed cutting.
I thoroughly detest Adam Sandler and anything he puts his name to.
Alas, there was nothing else on.

I remember really loving this movie as a young kid. I saw it dozens of times on videos, and haven't watched it for a few years. I remember getting bored of it, a common thing upon repeat viewings with any movies, but some parts still really amuse me
