The sequal to the great Terminator is just as good, no wait...It's BETTER! Way better. In the first Terminator we learned that Jhon Conner is going to be the hero and destroy SkiNet and the humans will win the war. That's why The T-800 was sent back into time to kill Sarah Conner.
Now Sarah Conner played by Linda Hamilton is in the nut house. Her pre-teen son is with dick-head foster parrents that he hates. He is still going to grow up and be the universal hero. Now a new terminator, the T-1000 who is made of liquid metal is sent back in time to kill Jhon. But Arnold Schwarzenegger is back but he has changed. He is sent back to protect Sarah and Jhon.
The first film was low budgit. The sequal is high bugit. Right after the runaway success of the first Terminator there had ben much talk about a sequal. It took 7 years to make a sequal. To make a long story short no matter how long in took to make a sequal Terminator 2 surpasses the original. That's why Terminator 2:Judgement Day is a 10.

Arguabley the greatest sequel of all time, T2 is everything the first one was and more. I remember this being the first movie to ever truly wow me with it's special effects. The T-1000 (played in a pleasingly eerie fashion by Robert Patrick, an actor who's never really gotten the credit he deserves) is a work of art. Anyone who has an oppurtunity to pick up the collector's edition DVD should spend the cash, because if you think the FX in the movie are incredible, wait until you see what they cut out.
But there's more to Judgement Day than just CGI. A lot more. Let's examine Arnold's T-800 for second. The same creature which was in the first film nothing more than a mindless homicidal drone is here portrayed in a very symapthetic light, less than human, but more than a machine, and believe it or not, I bought it. His relationship with young John Conner (lots of points to the actor who tackled that part. Sadly, his name escapes me for the moment) is surprisingly touching at times (even with the out-dated slang thrown in). And on the subject of surprising performances, who the hell knew Linda Hamilton could act, or for that matter, who knew she could kick ass? Those scenes with her in the asylum really made an impression.
The best part about Terminator 2 is that unlike most action flicks, there's some deeper meaning here. Lots of subtext about the nature of humanity and the futility of war, with plenty of dark imagery and thinly veiled foreboding. My hat goes off to James Cameron for having the guts to go all out with the dream sequence, which is truly very frightening (especially for those of us who saw it on the big screen), and, combined with the battle scene in the very begining, comprises some of the most vivid and ambitious filmaking of the early nineties. Pretty cool stuff, eh?
I usually don't give scores this high to action flicks, but T2 definetly deserves it. 9/10.

AND THIS MOVIE WAS MY FAVORITE OF ALL TIME. I usually don't write reviews because it's too long. But the score is 10/10. for 92? heck this movie is the BOMB!!! it's early 90's and the CGI was much advanced! it made the movie look pretty frickin' sweet! I own the T2; UE and I'm more than HAppy! cause i can watch it any time! I remember as a kid i waited to WATCH this movie whole day! Couldn't wait till it was on TV! I'm sure most of ya'll say Oh it's my favorite movie! then another movie gets made and you really like it and say it "Oh this movie is gonna be my fav for life" But nop THIS MOVIE is MY Favorite 4 LIFE!!! lol http://www.joblo.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

Plot: Nearly 10 years have passed since Sarah Connor was targeted for termination by a cyborg from the future. Now her son, John, the future leader of the resistance, is the target for a newer, more deadly terminator. Once again, the resistance has managed to send a protector back to attempt to save John and his mother Sarah.
One of the best action movies of our time, Terminator 2: Judgment Day has it all; Groundbreaking special effects, amazing action sequences, a solid storyline and there's even a good dose of humor. It is THE summer blockbuster.
Arnold Schwarzenegger, Linda Hamilton, Edward Furlong and Robert Patrick are all flawless. I can't say one bad thing about there performances. The supporting cast including Earl Boen (Dr. Silberman) and Joe Morton (Miles Dyson) was also good.
Let's talk about the amazing special effects. The T-1000 was extremely cool. The "regeneration" and "transformation" sequences were perfect. This movie hasn't aged a bit since 1992.
James Cameron definatley knows how to craft excting action scenes. The semi/bike chase was one for the books! I also loved the Judgement Day scenes. Cameron keeps the pace extremely tight, the movie never drags. Thank you Mr. Cameron for creating one of the most entertaining movies of all time!

I caught this movie just a few weeks ago and I was literally blown away. Just amazing. A fantastically fun movie experience. Couldn't quite get it in the 10/10 zone, but it's hella close.

Actually, it's not the best sequel of all time, or the most kick-ass, IMO anyway...
I forgot all about LOTR: TTT, my #17 movie. But it is the second most kick-ass and best sequel! :D:D

Plot: "A decade after Sarah Connor (Linda Hamilton) destroyed the original Terminator, a second unstoppable killing machine (Arnold Schwarzenegger) arrives from the post-apocalyptic year 2029. But this time his mission is to stop an even deadlier Terminator, the T-1000 (Robert Patrick), made entirely of shape-shifting liquid metal and determined to kill young John Connor (Edward Furlong), the future leader of the human resistance. Sarah, John, and the Terminator counter by going after the scientist responsible for developing Skynet, the computer system fated to destroy humanity, leading to an explosive and spectacular clash with the fate of humanity in the balance."
Film is medium full of iconic images, from Rick Blaine and his true love kissing on the runway in Casablanca to the massive signal in the sky in Batman. Another giant iconic film image is the Terminator Endoskeleton....

An image of terror from the dark future. An unstoppable killing machine who haunts the dreams of John and Sarah Connor. Introduced in 1984 in James Cameron's The Terminator, science fiction fans around the world fell in love with the red eyes, maniacal "smile", and the steel body. In fact, it was so popular, than it gained a large following of loyal fans that waited 7 long years to see the Endoskeleton on screen again. Released in 1991, James Cameron's T2: Judgement Day quickly became one of the most popular films ever made. But is it any good?

Arnold Schwarzenegger stars as the T-800, a killing machine re-programmed to protect. One of the most popular actors of all-time, Schwarzenegger brings his offbeat charm and massive strength to the role. The Terminator will steal your heart. Excellent performance.

Linda Hamilton is utter bad-ass as Sarah Connor. A completely different character from the first. She holds her own in the action sequences, and conveys a sense of strength and bravery in dramatic sequences.

Edward Furlong is excellent as young John Connor. He's the emotional center of the film, and, in that sense, wonderfully carries it all, but he's also uber-cool, especially when uttering lines like "Hasta La Vista, Baby!"

Robert Patrick is scary as hell as the liquid metal Terminator, the T-1000. He is so cold, evil, and menacing. You never doubt for a second he'd kill anyone brutally who gets in his way. Awesome villian.

James Cameron does a superb job directing. It is fast, smart, and mean. It never takes any prisoners. It gets in your face. Cameron does let it lag or stumble, he keeps it centered, which makes it thrilling. He knows how to direct, and it shows.

Overall, this is one of the greatest films ever made. It is funny, smart, action-packed, intriuging, well-made, kinetic, and, most of all, moving and emotional. Not a movie, but an experience that may change your look on movies as a medium. It is responsible for my obsession with films. It made me a film fan. It changed my life for sure! I love all 3 Terminator films. The best saga of all-time.
