When this movie came out it was hated by many. The movie that followed "Clerks." All be it a very good film that from what I can see, inspired a lot of you to persue writing and directing films. That's all fine and dandy, but I would rather watch MALLRATS over Clerks anyday. MALLRATS never gets old. It's my favorite Kevin Smith movie to watch. Kevin Smith himself said this was his favorite one to watch on the DVD, and that has to mean something. The dialogue is excellent, characters are excellent, my god this movie is excellent. And when I think about it. Isn't it really a romantic comedy? It's about relationships. Losing relationships and getting it back. I remember when I first saw it. The lady at the rental check out counter said, that she had to watch it twice, so she could understand it. I don't know what she couldn't understand. This could of inspired people as well. Someone like us made a real main stream movie. I will always cherish MALLRATS 9/10, no matter how corny it sounds.

Okay, I love Mallrats. But I always got the feeing that Kevin Smith was holding back. The dialogue just doesn't feel as real as his other efforts. He actually says on the DVD that the studio forced him to reove much of the "harsh language." I'm not saying that cursing makes a movie, but Kevin Smith's characters are incomplete without countless outbursts of profanity.

Jason London could use a few more acting lessons as well. That guys cannot pull of anger for shit.

Yeah, and in case you haven't noticed he's never had anything to do with Universal since. The movie worked so well, because of Jason Lee. I can't believe that his career hasn't really "sky rocketed." He's so much fun to watch. Although I will knock him for one of his latest roles in "Heart breakers" for being to one dimensional. Never the less, he's amazing. I'm going to go watch MALLRATS in a couple of minutes with a friend. I think I'll like it.
