The best documentary ever made. This film follows the life and family of undergroung comic artist Robert Crumb, directed by Terry Zwigoff. Crumb created some of the best comics around such as "Zap Comix", and "Keep on Truckin'", and he created some of the best charectors in comic book history like Fritz the Cat and Mr. Natural. And for me, being a cartoonist curreltly working for Disney, Crumb's work relly imspired me and I think that he is the best comic creator out there and I won all of his comix.

CRUMB -- 7/10
Keep in mind that I'm not a Robert Crumb fan. In fact, I've never read a complete comic of his. With that in mind...this documentary was interesting as an introduction to this troubled man and his art. I personally find the interviews with his brothers less compelling than the parts that deal more directly with his underground comics--the film does drag at times. Still, I'd be interested in reading more of his stuff. Some of what they showed us onscreen was just...bizzare, to say the least. And the comic with that headless lady...nasty, though weirdly intriguing. Crumb wasn't quite the knockout the critics said, but it did make me more interested in the subject, so I'm giving it a somewhat qualified recommendation.

I'm no fan of Crumbs art or lifestyle, but this is a definite must see for fans of documentaries..plus if ya seen American Splendor, (and thought it was okay) this is a given as a must see...I'd also like to recommend:
