I just rented and saw this movie today and I must say I was very impressed. I think this movie is a near masterpiece. I cannot believe this movie didn't get a bigger distribution than it got. The movie starts off slow and gradually builds on suspense and tension. It is very creepy and atmospheric. The performances all around are excellent but especially by Peter Mullen and David Caruso. And the ending is pretty surprising. I think I am going to have to watch the movie again to see if I missed some stuff. I know I did. But a very terrific movie indeed.

I caught this movie in the theaters, and I thought it was a great film. A movie like Session 9 are the kind of horror films I like. It was smart, it had a good story to back it up, it wasn't very violent, and it was creepy. Also, the acting was solid all around. Session 9 is an amazing film, and I highly recommend seeing it. Now, I must go and buy this on DVD!

Session 9 is the scariest movie of the year, and one of the scariest movies I've seen in a long time! I was so tense throughout the whole film, and I really loved the ending. An incredible twist that scared the hell outta me. Man, this flick was scary. The biggest problem many critics found with it was the lack of character developement, but I really had no problem with that. I thought most of the characters were solid with some fantastic actors. 9.5/10
My friend showed me this and man, it was great. I feel like I'm in debt to the cinematographer. Jesus God man! I just want to shake that man's hand. I think the only reason this movie bombed is from bad marketing.
But let me say this: the fact that this movie didn't gain attention is one of the proofs that our movie-watching society is fucking retarded. All we want are our Shyamalyns (Sp?), our Speilbergs, and our goddamn Vin Deisels. We can't handle no-name actors giving terrific performances with style. I'm ranting though. So I'll shutup. But its good to hear that others have seen this great movie.

An excellent horror film to say the least. Very sharp acting and great script. I never lost interest throughout. I strongly recommend this film if you haven't seen it.

Session 9- 10/10
Rated R for Disturbing Imagery, Blood and Terror.
An extremely creepy movie in the style of The Shining. By the end I was curled up in terror. It truly is one of the best horror flicks released in the last couple of years. Numerous guys are hired to clean all of the esbestos out of an old Mental Institution. One of the guys is very curious about one of the stories that have been linked to the Institution over the years. I won't give any more away but I will say that it is terrifying at times and creepy as hell in others.
Acting- 9/10
Very good performances all around.
Directing- 10/10
Wow, "creepy" rarely looks this good.
Gore- 4/10
Some pretty bloody surprises occur near the end of the flick which I won't spoil but it's not a very gory flick at all.
Nudity- 0/10
