View Full Version : LOTR character that you want to see on the movie
My question for you feloow schmoes is:
Which Lord of the Rings character you wantto see (the most) in the movie?
I mean the one that creates more curiosity in you.
Mine is Gollum. The producers has been very misterious about his aperance in the interviews.

With a bound the Balrog leaped upon the bridge. Its whip whirled and hissed.
And of course, Gollum and Treebeard.

I'm really big on seeing the Nine Riders. Is there anything about these guys that isn't intimidating?

Hmmm....not sure.
Definitely Gollum and Treebeard. I also want to see how good Denethor is.
And the winged steeds that the Nazgul fly on, too.
And, of course, SHELOB!

Ya Im excited about The Balrog and Gollum, Im also stoked about the confrontation between the King of the Nazgul and Gandalf and the gates are broken down, but that might not be in this one I can never remember, does anyone know if Jackson is gonna end the movie at the exact same point as the book.
i always loved Sam, so I cant wait to see how Sean Astin portrays him.

Definately Gollum, but Aragorn and Eomer should be kickass. Also I'd like to see the two babes Arwen and Eowyn.

Guys, the wizards are what its all about. Aside from that the Orcs and that big spider chick (She-ra or whatever her name is) are all make or break effects characters for me
For me there are three characters I really want to see! The first two are Gollum and Treebeard!! I'm just so curious about how they get portrayed on the movie. I know Gollum will be a CGi creation based on the actor's facial expressions and movements when performing the character. I am not sure if Treebear will also be a CGI creation, but I can't think it will be otherwise. Anyways, I am really looking forward to watching them on the silver screen. The third character I really want to watch the most is Gandalf. If the tids and bits the've showed us is any indication, I believe that Sir Ian McKellen's portrayal of Gandalf will be awesome (I even dare to say that it could be Oscar quality!!!)!!!

The Lord of the Rings... oh my, we're getting so close, so very close http://www.joblo.com/ubb/smile.gif
From what I've seen PJ is actually succeeding in making this HUGE project work... it's amazing - Every piece of footage I've seen so far gave me the chills and that's a really good sign. I say it will be better then the Star Wars movies (note: I'm not saying it'll make more money - but I truly believe the LotR trilogy will be better then Star Wars, sue me.)
I'm excited about a lot of characters and how they'll be portraited in the movies... There's one though that I can't wait to watch, one creature for whom I'm holding my breath... Gollum.
I mean - damn, only hearing his voice totally gave me the creeps... "My preciousssssss..." Absolutely awesome. Plus the guy's the biggest secret - we haven't seen him, nothing of him.
-T.

I must say some of the scenes i am most looking forward to in LOTR are those nearer the end where the fellowship sense someone/thing following them. It is, of course, Gollum.
I'll be very happy if we hardly see anything of him, apart from a shadow, or a glimmer from his eye, and will tease us fans (and people who don't know the story of Gollum) immensely, until The Two Towers in 2002.
I agree with ak. The "non-presence" of Gollum during FOTR gives more spectation to this character during the second film.
The balrog looks truly cool on the trailer.

Well, yet again we didn't see the Balrog, all we saw was his foot (which is more than likely the closest we'll get till the release).
What you saw, and more than likely thought was the Balrog was the scene from Biblo's party, where Gandalf ruffles up some magic to make Smaug the dragon from the party fire.
