Mallrats
Cast: Jason Lee, Jeremy London, Jason Mewes.
Review: An exremely rude film with tons of huge laughs and dick and fart jokes. This was Jay and Silent Bob's film to shine in, and believe me, they did! They stole almost every scene they were in.
Okay, the story; two friends get dumped by their girlfreinds on the same day, so the one talks his friends into going to hang with his at the mall. While they are there, they dicuss the food court, Superman banging Lois Lane and escalators. Brodie (Jason Lee) is by far my favorite Kevin Smith movie character (minus any character from Chasiny Amy, but that is a different movie). He is so likable and funny. He collects comics, lives in his parents basement and plays Sega. Sounds a lot like he (except for the Sega; i got Playstation).
Okay, Jason Lee comes across as totally believable and likeable. Jason Lee's breakthrough performance was one of his best. Jeremy London is okay as the weinery kind of friend. Sure, he punches Brodie at one point, but he is a push over. His charecet (TS) is pretty funny himslef, but no Brodie. Shannon Dohrety is pretty good as Rene and Claire Forlani is fine as Brandy, but even though this film has some romance sprinkled over it, it is still about Brodie and TS. Okay, Jason Mewes. He is Jay as always. That's all i can say about his role, except why all the "snootchie bootchies" and the practically none "snoonch to the noonch"? Oh well.
All in all, a very funny film with a likeable cast and many laugh-out-loud scenes.
Rating: 8/10
