This movie was famous for being the world's worst movie ever! Actually, the only reason it made it to 3/10 was because it's really funny how shite it is. Basically, it is the film of paper saucers on strings, and the most unbelievable (not the good type) special effects. I do recommend this if you want a real laugh. If anyone else has seen this, post your observations about the bollocks that is: Plan 9 from Outer Space!

3/10

I put it on at work and I found myself LMAO half the time. It was so chessy and badley acted, but if you got passed that it was ok.

Watch it anyways.

Plan 9 is considered the worst movie ever made... for a reason. It really sucks. Almost everything about it is laughable, amateurish, or plain bad. Still, there's a reason that this piece of trash deserves to be watched: Ed Wood, jr. I urge you to read Rudolph Grey's fantastic biography about Wood, then watch Tim Burton's genius movie about the man... and then you should give Plan 9 (or any of Wood's flicks) another try. If you know about the tragedy and misery in Wood's life, and his imperturbable love for making movies, you'll see this presumed laugh riot through different eyes.

Like I said earlier, it's only good because it is so bollocks! The only reason I saw this was because it was part of the Ed Wood Jr box set. Did anyone else get this along with the book?

This is probably number 1 on my TO SEE list. I would have seen it along time ago but my local video store doesn't have it, and I don't really feel like buying it. I have seen Glen or Glenda though, which I imagine is just as bad, and still hilarious. It's hard to really hate these movies though after seeing Tim Burton's "Ed Wood", you can really sympathize with him. All he wanted to do was make movies, and don't we all? At least he went out and did them, even if they were pieces of crap. The movie made him seem kind of insane because he's just so obsessed.

2/10 - So damn bad it's funny. This movie was funny. That's it. It was pathetic. I mean pathetic like you just want to punch someone to get it out of you. But it wasn' 1/10 bad. Ed Wood's Orgy of the Dead is a 1/10. Damn.

Hey, I loved Tim Burton's "Ed Wood" as much as the next schmoe, but no matter how much I dig eccentric directors, I absolutely hated "Plan 9"...even as a "so bad, it's funny" flick...there was nothing funny or good about it...wait a sec...I actually did like seeing some of those famous B-actors and the old feel, but otherwise it stank like a five-dollar whore...

I liked this film. It kept me semi-interested during all of it's running time and was hilariously funny at some places. A very strange film indeed. It feels weird to think that this was intended as a serious scifi/horror movie. I really like the way how Wood incorporated shots of Bela Lugosi to make him seem like a big player in the film. There was this shot of Lugosi coming from the forest at daytime. Wood showed that shot THREE times during the film in DIFFERENT scenes. To make it even worse, some of the scenes happened at night, but that separate shot was a daylight picture. Obviously Wood didn't mind if there were "tiny" continuity errors in his films... Great stuff. It was a better film than I expected.

This film really gives me courage to make my own film. It couldn't possibly be any worse than Plan 9.

I watched this film again recently... I guess that in order to appreciate this flick you have to be familiar with the life story of Ed Wood. I would give it 8/10.

Best line:"Well the saucers are up there, and the cemetary is out there, and I'll be locked up in there,so you won't need to worry. I haven't seen the movie, but I have seen some clips. So bad. The movie was made for 37 dollars.

In all honesty Plan 9 From Outer Space is an abysmal film. From a technical standpoint all it is is an example of just how badly it is possible to make films. But the worst film of all time? No way, it's just too much fun.

Much of this film is hysterically funny; the hubcaps that are meant to pass for UFO's, the fact that none of the stock footage Wood employs matches his own work, the endless repeats of shots and, my own favourite, the explanation of Solaronite.

There are very few films that MUST be seen at least once, Plan 9 is one of these. Yes it's ineptly shot, badly acted, written and edited but how can you fail to like a film that contains the line: Inspector Clay is dead, murdered, and someone's responsible.

As a true fan of bad movies, I must say this is one of my top 10. There are certain rules with regards to bad movies. The worst sin a bad movie can inflict is that of being boring. Plan 9 is anything but that. Amatuerish? Poorly acted? of course. Us bad movie fans wouldn't have it any other way.

I have more sub-million dollar budgeted movies in my collection then most movie fans have movies. Plan 9 is far from the worst. Samson Vs. The Supreme Dictator From Outer Space is much worse (hubcaps? bah! This flick has a paper spaceship with a magent glued onto the back and is dragged along a cotton covered piece of blue construction paper with another magnet behind.)

I'm thinking of writing a book on the love of bad movies. I'm talking Plan 9 bad, not Steel Magnolias bad...

You can't approach a good bad movie the same way you can Julia Roberts' latest piece of shit...fuck plot, fuck acting, to hell with continuity...bring on the nudity, fake gore, fake rubber monsters, excessive violence, bad acting and more nudity. We didn't have nudity in the movies in Ed Wood's days (not counting the "smokers" and "roughies"), but we did get bad acting and bizarre celebrity cameos (another plus for a good bad movie).

If you are a movie snob, avoid Plan 9, if you can enjoy enthusiam, a love for movies (always evident in a good bad movie) and have fun with a movie, get it today and don't just watch it once. Wtch it over and over and memorize the lines. Learn it inside and out. LIVE THE MOVIE! ENJOY THE MOVIE BE THE MOVIE! ah yes bad movie zen.....
