Alright, I admit this is the first time i have ever seen the Gene Wilder classic, and I am ashamed i have waited so long to actually see it. Unfortunately i was not alive when the movie was in theaters. So i watched through everything and I could not stop watching it. I must say the most impressive trait of the film were it's musical acts. Pure Imagination was absolutely beautiful and I think it is one of the most wonderful movie tracks ever made. Gene Wilder portrays the chocolate man magnificently and i applaud his talent. I give Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory an 8.5/10 for exemplary acting, singing, and some comedic humor by Gene Wilder

Thank you

I grew up on Willy Wonka. What can I say, this is one of those films that I treasure to have seen, and a wonderful fantasy for just about everyone, even though it contains dark themes. Gene Wilder has always been one of my absolute favorite actors and he really stands out and creates this wonderfully bizarre title character. Another thing that amazes me about the actor is that he actually did his own singing for the musical number "Imagination". I'm surprised this is the first time you ever saw the film Handeman, I thought basically EVERYONE had seen this movie. I do like the way the film eventually plays out, but I wish they had kept strictly to the book (I forget what those things were). Even thought the film is not GREAT, I still think that it could've been a lot worse.

(****) out of five or (8/10)
