10/10! Great acting, music, story, directing, editing, sceenery... there is not one single doubt in my head... Miss Berry definetly deserved the oscar... it was not a racial thing! she was great!

Warning....Spoilers....Spoilers.............
I guess it wasn't a horrible flick, but I didn
t think it was that great either. With the film that is so damn depressing I was hoping to at least come away from a film with a lesson learned. And that lesson learned is the usual whites and blacks can get along. Thats a bit simplistic, but thats about all I took from this film. Well that and the urge to shoot myself because it was so freaking depressing.
I'm also not buying their relationship. I never got the feeling that Billy Bob was the racist his father was, but that was a huge change of attitude and wasn't explored enough for me. And I'm sorry but the sex scene was laughable. It was a smart move not to make it a romantic and very erotic scene. But her screaming "Make me feel good" was hysterical.
It's just another in a very long line of films that are essentially all about the same thing. And it's not the fault of this movie, because it is much much more orignal than things like Men of Honor and Remember the Titans, films that come to mind for me while watching it. Perhaps I'm wrong in reading the race issue into it. I guess it still pisses me off that we live in such a fucked up world that we still need to have films made to remind us of how far we've got to go.
I'm not seeing the great performance by Halle Berry. I just honestly think that she may have been too good looking for the role. I think it would have been much more powerful if she had been less attractive. Even the grandmaster of the KKK would love to get with Halle Berry.
6/10...Not a horrible movie, but not that great in my eyes either. I think it makes American History X almost look like an episode of Barney at times, so don't watch it in a bad mood or it might push you over the edge.
