Maybe it is me but I think that i'm getting real tired of these mainstream movies all the time. Mission to Mars, Gladiator, X-Men, etc... I mean, I really enjoy these but there are so many other movies out there that are never viewed by many people and are better than the large chunk of what we all see. A good example is The Boondock Saints.Up until my boss told me about it, I had never even heard of this. I go up to work and pick it up and it's an extremely good movie.
Summary: Two brothers turn to vigilante justice to cure Boston of its evils.

Opinion: It is kinda like a Pulp Fiction. It doesn't really have that "I'm a really cool guy" Tarantino thing going on but it is still great. The feel, the story, even the acting is good. If you ever have a few extra bucks and are looking for a good movie, then pick this one up. Anyone else seen it who can back me up or otherwise?

I liked the film, but I didn't find it to be anything special.

The script is decent, but not particularly good. It get's points for some clever and original ideas, but then again it lacks any truly interesting characters, witty dialogue is rare, and the film never properly explores the moral questions it raises. It also has a tendency to be artsy just for the sake of being artsy. Some of the performances are good, but some are badly over-acted. I liked the interestingly staged action scenes, but visually there was nothing really to write home about.

A well crafted pulp film with an interesting premise, but not much of a plot. It's entertaining for sure, but feels like a mish-mash of everything that was considered "cool" in the five year post-Tarantino period.

6/10. Pretty good.

My cousin's boyfriend introduced me to The Boondock Saints. Like most of you, I had never even heard of the film. To my delight, I was thoroughly entertained. Willem Dafoe rocks as the gay detective, but his character's omnipotence is borderline unrealistic. "InsignifiCUNT!"
