Chat Update!

Well, the "timer" thing didn't seem to be working all that well, so I decided to just schedule 4 daily "CHAT TIMES" during which folks are encouraged to visit the CHAT BOARD. Get all of the specifics here:

I am still looking for any feedback on this, so please feel free to post any here, and I will also continue to schedule some SPECIAL CHATS from time to time, like the Golden Globes Chat, the Oscars Chat, etc...

To access the CHAT quicker, just go to the JoBlo.com front page and check out the new link near the bottom of the page. Over time, I will try and integrate it further across more of our pages. Adios!

The only suggestion I have is a chat room with sound effects... That way it's easier to leave it up and running in the background while doing other things, etc...

That's my 2 cents, otherwise the scheduled chat times is a GREAT idea.

Wow so many thoughts on the chat. I get on it and NOBODY IS THERE. You know, if people would actually visit the chat, we
could have some fun on it. Say a guy in California could learn a little bit about Canada or Europe while talking about the movies and TV shows he's seen and his chat buddies have seen.

I think it just needs to be on the top of every page in big letters: CHAT ROOM!!!
I don't think putting it on the bottom of the page draws alot of visitors to the CHAT ROOM.

It seems as though there are quite a few of you who do want to chat from time to time, but there honestly isn't much more that I could do about it.

The best thing to do is to set a specific time at which people could meet in there, and the times have been noted as 3am, 9am, 3pm and 9m EST. Try going in there during those times and see what happens.

If not, post a message on this board and ask for people to join you at a specific time and date. That way, you can actually organize CHATS. Otherwise, it's like finding a needle in a haystack.

Getting to the CHAT room is as easy as pie, since you can pretty much find a link to it at the bottom of every single Joblo.com page on the site. For those who don't know, it's:

Okay, here's a promise I can make. I have weight lifting at 11 am to noon pacific standard time. This is on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. After, I am exhausted and am resting and/or running until around 2:00 to 2:30 pm. This is the time I will donate to this chat and to my online course which I operate on the same computer. In other words, get here at that time for a fun chat. Also, e-mail me at unicorn207@lycos.com to tell me when you want to chat and give me 2-3 days at least to prepare. I'm very flexible!

Maybe we should have a topic that acts as a sort of sign in book so people can tell if anyone is in the chat room ie:

Kal in at whatever time it says above here
