Hey guys the questions up still are:

The directors Dennis Hopper, Wim Wenders, Nicholas Rey, and Sam Fuller all appeared in what film together?

What was the first Brittish talkie, and who directed it?

Who was the first woman nominated for Best Director, and for what film was she nominated?

and Raw Chili got John Wayne's name right so to replace it:

The acclaimed Academy Award winning film Sling Blade was made into a short before becoming a feature film. What well-known actress appeared in the short but not the full-length version?

Thanx for continuing to play Movie Trivia Extravaganza!

Isn't it Lina Wertmuller for "7 Beauties" in the mid-70's

CoolKid...let's not get into grammatical and spelling checks on this board. Otherwise, the whole board would be full of comments as such. As long as folks are trying to use the proper punctuation and capitalizing their sentences (and creating sentences!), I don't think there is any need for a spell-checker.

Let's stick to MOVIES and the topic at hand, which is a GREAT one! Quentin rocks with movie trivia...

QUENTIN
12-31-2000, 04:11 PM
Why yes it was Lina for Seven Beauties in 1976.

Thanx Jo, why don't you try your hand at it a little? I'm sure you could come up with some answers.

The replacement question:

What Hollywood family has the most generations of Oscar winners in their immediate family?

Kal
12-31-2000, 04:41 PM
Corleone family

JoBlo
12-31-2000, 07:32 PM
I wish I could, Quentin, but I suck at this kind of stuff! I guess I could NEVER be an actor, since my memory BLOWS!!

But I'll take a shot at your last question anyway...is it the Fondas?

QUENTIN
12-31-2000, 08:22 PM
Well nice try at it Jo, but sorry Kal got it.

Vito Corleone (Old) won best actor twice for On The Waterfront and none other than The Godfather.

Vito Corleone (Young) won best actor for Raging Bull and best supporting actor for The Godfather II.

Michael Corleone won best actor for Scent of A Woman.

Honorary Corleone member Tom Hagen won best actor for Tender Mercies.

Kay Adams Corleone won best actress for Annie Hall.

But seriously, all of the questions are still up for grabs. Keep playing Movie Trivia Extravanganza! into the new year...

QUENTIN

Mafia, yes I'm sure there are people on here who know all the Cannes winners. Just because it is too hard for you does not mean it is too hard for all, and does not mean it is ok to cheat.

What film won Best Picture at the 1997 Cesar awards?

Dunno

Who was the first person to speak audibly in a film?

Chaplin or Fatty Arbuckle?

Name all the African-American actors and directors to have won at the Academy Awards.

I think, Denzel Washington (Glory), Whoopi Goldberg (Ghost) and Cuba Gooding Jr. (Jerry Maguire)

QUENTIN
02-25-2001, 06:35 PM
Yes it was Roger & Me for the quote.

Sorry, neither Chaplin nor Fatty Arbuckle are correct.

All of those named did win, but not all who won were named, so sorry, the question remains.

Replacement Question:

Kal
02-27-2001, 04:56 PM

Q,

I'm pretty sure it was South Park: Bigger, Longer and Uncut...

(if that's wrong, it's gotta be Pulp Fiction)

armyofmonkeys
03-07-2001, 07:19 PM
i dont think South Park was rated NC-17. and I think KIDS had more than just language but that is probably one.

QUENTIN
03-07-2001, 07:25 PM
Clerks is one. Pulp Fiction was never considered for NC-17. Dice Rules is NC-17. South Park: B, L, U was considered for NC-17, but not for language. Whore is not. KIDS was to be rated NC-17, but again not for language it was released unrated...

Wasn't the other one the concert film that Martin Lawrence did? I think it was called YOU SO CRAZY or something like that.

QUENTIN
03-22-2001, 07:51 PM
No the Martin Lawrnece concert film You So Crazy is NC-17 for language and sexual content. There were ones that were considered but after appeals released as R.

bmain77
03-23-2001, 10:28 AM
I'm thinking the other film that was NC-17 for its language was Orazmo.
