Should there be a Scream 4?
The producers are thinking about it and have they already asked Wes Craven to direct. He declined. They are writing a script to release a possible Scream 4 in 2002.
Is this a good thing?
+ A new Scream-movie. It can be good, if it has the same wit and scary atmosphere.
-They mocked the horror-franchise that is going on in Hollywood in the 3 Scream-movies. They say how bad these movies generally are. Now they going to do it on their own. So, in Scream 4, it would be impossible to have the same wit as in the other Screams.
Maybe, in a decade, after long thinking about the story-line, with Wes Craven as director and Kevin Williamson as writer. They can find a new formula, a new story, similar to the trilogy. This could mean quality. If Scream 4 is released in 2002, this will probably mean money and not so much quality.
