The Arrow

Dario Argento is the man that could bring the edge back in Scream. It would be great if he directed it. It would also put him on the USA map and in the same league as John Woo. He is after all the John Woo of horror.
Dario Argento+Scream4=my dream

I'm hoping there isn't a Scream 4. To me the series is a spoof and Argento is a serious horror filmmaker (from what little I have seen). Scream 3 suffered due to the lack of Williamson penning the story. I think that even the brilliance of Argento's style couldn't resurrect the series without Williamson.

Hey Arrow, pardon my ignorance, but what films has Dario Argento completed? I'm not exactly the biggest horror afficionado, but am curious. thanks.

i'm actually hoping there won't be another Scream, either. I have to admit the third one ended on a weak note, but was probably as good as they could make it without lapsing into self-parody. I think the sooner Scream fades away, the fewer awful teen movies we'll have to put up with...

I've only seen "Suspiria" and "The Stendahl Syndrome" but both were good. Suspiria is worth just to see the use of lighting. The movie itself wasn't too hot. Horror fans should check this man out.

No Scream 4. Director Wes Craven said if Scream3 Makes 500Million, He'd make a nother one.
I have a question about Sidney. Sidney is no Different from any of the other Big Breasted chicks who get chopped up in SCREAMS, so why hasn't she died? She must be the iron woman or something!! I think the Screams were a fun ride, funny, and scary, but I think i'd be best not to make another one.

Sidney hasnt got killed because she doesnt have big breast.....not like she used to in the craft,it comes with loosing weight...
why didnt jaime lee curtis get killed killed in halloween??? for the very same reson none of the main characters ever dies (except in the nightmare movies) no one wants the bad gu to win....(except me sometimes /ubb/wink.gif ) yvonne

The Scream Trilogy have been some of the best horror films in a long, long time. I was sad after going out to see part 3 ('cuz the series was over), but kind of glad that it didn't begin to get cheesy and lame like so many other horror films have. If they were to make a Scream 4, which I highly doubt, but would definitely go see, it would HAVE TO be under the direction of Wes and I think that they should bring it back to Kevin again. Dario is an okay director, but once you bring in so many new people into a preoject like scream, that had been such a great film to begin with, you start getting stuff like Nightmare on Elm Street II - VI. I don't think that part 4 has a chance to be made in the near future, but if it was, only Wes and Kev could pull it off in order to create the same atmosphere that the first had.

I hope it ends with sream 3 I don't see any reason to make another film it needs to just be a trilogy,if they make another movie it will ruen the trilogy.

Seriously, Scream 3 sucked, at least as a horror movie. One of my friends who hadn't seen the first two was convinced it was a comedy. There was no suspense, no gore, nothing to make it a horror movie. They will make a scream 4 (it'll make money), but it won't be directed by anyone we've ever heard of. Who would take that job, it'd be like directing Halloween 3.

There is not going to be a Scream 4 i know that for a fact. The Scream series is over and completely done now that 3 has been made.

you already said that John. This is a hypathetical question. And my answer would be anyone except Wes Craven.

I think that the perfect director for this film would be: me. But seriously, if someone were to make another scream, I would hope that it would be someone young, whom has only made a few, small movies. I think that if they hadn't been around as long, and the movie could be their big break, they would make sure that it was great. It's a perfect thing: If you have only directed small, low-budget films, wouldn't you try to make this the greatest movie ever? People work better under pressure.

Sam Raimi is the only guy with the horror credibility AND humor that the Scream series has come to expect...besides it might help me forget "For Love Of The Game" (a Sam Raimi low point to say the least)...I still have nightmares about Costner's other film "The Postman" aka "Waterworld II: I Stopped Drinking Urine!"...

Another Scream? How the hell are the gonna explain this one?! What is Mrs. Prescott herself the killer?! I mean God. Enough is enough. I love the Scream trilogy. I'm one of the biggest Scream fans but a 4th one? I dont get it.

Argento can't do spoof? Haven't any of you seen Phantom of the Opera? /ubb/wink.gif
He's a damn good director, had a hand (because of his collaborations with Goblin) on music for Romero's Dawn of the Dead, in Italy and Japan he cut his own version with less humour and more violence!

here's a list of directors i'd like to do scream4:
Steven Spielberg (JAWS was pretty scary)
John Carpenter
Tarsem (Dir. of The Cell)
Roman Polanski
John McTiernan (predator, scream needs some action)
Andy Warhol (god rest his soul)
Darren Aronofsky (PI)
and the crowd favorite Dario (DEEP RED)

If they did scream 4 I think they should kill off Sidney or start fresh with a new cast in a different location. Maybe a new outfit for the killer and get rid of the scooby doo endings and have one killer who remains masked the whole show and end the movie with a clinger. That to me is the only way to make a successful sequel.

ive seen a handfull of argentos films and would rather him come up with something original. dont get me wrong he is.. err... was great. i'd rather not have a scream 4 at all but if there was one i would want craven to direct it..... besides.. lets be honest. i doubt if argento directed it that it would pass for R without it being chopped to shit. i mean i look here at my argento dvds and they r all the "unrated version" and all filmed in late 70s or early-mid 80s when it was much easier to get an R. but if argento did direct a scream 4- i'd be the first in line to see it.

Woah! This thread is over 3 years old!!!
I highly doubt their making a Scream 4, but if indeed, then that will be the day horror dies.

I think their should be a Scream prequel. Which involves around Maurine Prescott's death, Cotton Weary's accusal and the whole reason why these things started to happen.

May I suggest Kevin Smith? His cameo in Scream 3 may have been a hint that he's in talks to direct the next installment. :p

Scream 4 directed by Argento would probably bring the master down... and after Phantom of the Opera and Sleepless, I'd like to see a good Argento movie again!
I think it should be directed by Terry Jones (who did the Monthy Python movies), Trey Parker (South Park) or John Fallon.:D

I'd say wait 'till around 2007, then have Craven do a follow up to his masterpiece of the late 90's.
He seems to have luck when returning to a beloved franchise after 7-8 years away from it.
WES CRAVEN'S NEW NIGHTMARE, anyone?
Please don't mention THE HILLS HAVE EYES 2. *shiver*
Or maybe Joel Schumacher could try his hand at it. Perhaps a Father Death costume featuring protruding rubber nipples?
Okay, maybe not.
But.. ya gotta admit..... scary.
