Has anyone heard of the original ending of Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers? Apparently, Loomis originally died but the scene was cut out. Does anyone know anything about this?
Also, the film originally went beyond the police station ending. Apparently the Man In Black was known as Dr. Death. Dr. Death originally rescued Michael in the prologue (the hermit scene was a reshoot). But, in a druidic scene similar to the ending of the Producer's Cut of Halloween 6, Michael kills him.
Does anyone know anything more about this alternate cut?

Dr Death basically had the same part as the bum that helped Mike in Part 5. I heard they either wanted him to be the man in black or to take Mike's place.
They took it out to simplify things and truth be known they had no idea who or what the man in black was after that. They left it opened. They figured who he was when they wrote Part 6.
BTW: Loomis does die in the final cut of H5. He gets stabbed to death. We see him gasp his last breath.

That's the end of Part 4 Bry Bry. Part 5 ends with a battle bewteen Michael and Loomis with a big metal net. Micheal stabs Loomis and he gasps a last breath. We don't see Loomis after that.

that statements not true. At the end of 5 Michael is in that net, and Loomis is literally beating him down, Loomis is a pretty old guy, after all of that beating he passed out, or had a mild heatattack or stroke, I didnt see a knife.
watch it again dudes

Ahhhhhhhhh............
And yet he shows up again for one last round in the next movie! Yet another continunity error! When will the madness end?!?
Actually...I don't recall H5 ending with the good doctor being stabbed to death, but I saw it a good year and a half ago and could easily have forgotten something. Perhaps the ending was ambigious enought to be interpreted either way?

Sorry, Jeeper, I didn't realize you were posting when I was writting mine. But this is confusing. Perhaps Arrow should drop in to clear this up? Was the Canadian version different or something?

not only that but some gore got cut out including the hermits death. Oringally Michael took a rock and shoved it into his heart.

No, it wasn't different. Arrow got two scenes mixed in together. Loomis was slashed once by Myers. Then he pops up a few minutes later to give Michael a good beating, and he does collapse... but it's pretty much made out to be out of exhaustion.

Can't say I've ever heard of that. Couldn't tell you if it's true or not either. But it sounds like it might be bullshit or just what someone wished the ending would've been like. Later.

Well, It would be very sad to see the great Dr. loomis to go. But, it was also very sad at the end of Halloween 6 to hear that scream, and to know that Donald Pleasance had died earlier that year in Europe, due to complications of surgery.

What type of surgery did Pleasence have? How did he die? I have never known how or when good old Doc Loomis died, I think HE really and truly "made" the series, especially in 1,2,4,5 nuber 6 wasnt one of his best performances still good though
