Good Werwolf flicks are rare as hell ( If you know any, please tell me! ). It's been quite a long time since anybody made a flick about Werwolfs at all ( to my knowing, it was "Wolf" with Jack N. ), and I truly miss them. We've got lots of cool Vampire-Movies ("From Dusk til Dawn", "Near Dark"... ) but Werwolfes seem kinda forgotten on Holywood's list. Does anybody miss them too?

However, there are two Werwolf movies that anybody should have seen, "An American Werwolf in London" and "The Howling". Now what's your opinion, which one beats out the other? In my opinion, "American Werwolf" triumphs closely over "Howling".

By the Way, "The Company of Wolves" was a pretty great flick too.

I've heard good things about a new werewolf movie called "Ginger Snaps." I haven't seen it, and I don't think it's been released in the US yet, but I'm looking forward to it.

Anyway, "Howling" and "American Werewolf" are neck and neck for me, but I think I prefer "The Howling" if only because the werewolves look cooler, and you get to see them more.

Other werewolf flicks: "Wolfen" isn't strictly a werewolf movie, but it's an interesting take on the legend; "Wolf," with Jack Nicholson, is bereft of any really cool effects, but it has a pretty good story, and is overall a neat pseudo-remake of the original "The Wolfman."

I prefered American Werewolf, although I haven't seen
The Howling for years. AWIL had far better effects, the wolf
transformation sequences don't even compare. I'll have to give
the Howling another watch, though.

"An American Werewolf in London" IS the best werewolf flick ever...

"The Howling", "Wolfen" and "Wolf" are all pretty decent, but no where near the greatness of "An American Werewolf in London"...

I don't really dig the Universal Monster Classics that much as far as "The Wolfman" goes...I mean, it ruined it for me when I saw some of the Dracula meets the Wolfman meets Abbott & Costello-style shit that later came out...

One recent werewolf flick that was enjoyable, but not great, was "Bad Moon" with Michael Pare...

...and please don't even mention the steaming pile of horse innards that was "An American Werewolf in Paris"...how could you Julie Delpy?

I'm gonna have to go with AMERICAN WEREWOLF IN LONDAN. I think it was most excellent.
I do agree that there seems to be a lack of werewolf movies. In fact, there really is a lack of all the other monsters except for dracula. There seems to be a plethera of vampire movies, but that's probably because vamps are the coolest.
As for other werewolf movies, it seems everyone so far has forgotten TEEN WOLF. Hahahahahahahahahahaha. Please don't kill me, I was just kidden.

"London" is my pick, but the best werewolf flick of all time is 1941's original "Wolf Man" with Lon Chaney Jr.; suspense through set pieces.
