View Full Version : HORROR + OUTERSPACE= CRAP

It seems like horror movies eventually make their way into outer space. Leprachaun went to space, Hellraiser went to space, the Critters went to space (although that's where they came from originally) and now Jason is about to make his way into space. What's next? I KNOW WHAT YOU DID LAST SUMMER in space? CHILD'S PLAY in space? SCREAM in space? In space, nobody can hear you "SCREAM." Please.
It's also the movies that are always in space that would be better on Earth. I want to see an "ALIEN" movie on Earth damn it!
Why does Hollywood pull this crap?! Why put the earth bound monsters in space? It just ends up lame and stupid as hell. They belong on earth. They are meant to terrorize us earthlings.
I'm just waiting for the day where they do an alien invasion movie and the aliens are killed off by Michael Myers.

actuly i think the aliens coming to earth would be a good idea. but really i dont think the leprachaun being in space messed up that series cause after the first one they were all crap. so the series was already messed up. what would you think about a jack frost in space. j/k

An ALIEN movie on earth would be cool to see, and I do want to see it, but in present time. From the ALIEN series, they're several hundred years in the future, which could still be cool.
Am I the only one who thinks ALIEN 4 sucked big time? I was in high school when it was out and everyone kept talking about how cool it was, along with EVENT HORIZON, both of which I thought was stupid.
Of course everyone has a right to their own opinion as to what's good and what isn't, but come on people!

I thought JASON X was the best movie of 2002. Although it's been a while since I seen it I did enjoy Critters 4. I'm embarrassed to admit that I have not seen Leprechaun 4 yet. Galaxy of Terror was also a good movie which featured a pre-FREDDY KRUEGER ROBERT ENGLUND. Overall I don't think its that bad although I wouldn't want to see FREDDY in space. Well thats all for now GOoD JOURNEY my fellow schmoes.

Jason X was probably the most entertaining horror/space film featuring a serial killer that I have ever seen, from what I hear Michael Myers was close to going into space.

Yeah, he was supposed to go to space in part 4 I believe. Good thing he didn't, since Halloween 4 is the best Halloween sequel.

Event Horizon was a good horror/space flick.
I liked Jason X, I think it gave the franchise a breath of fresh air. Camp Crystal Lake is fun, but they're bound to run out of unique ways to kill horny teenagers sooner or later. If nothing else, the face smash kill rocked. Campy and fun...
Space takes fear of the unknown to a whole new level. I think there's alot of potential, and I wish more movies would explore this.

I haven't seen Jason X, so I can't pass judgement on that, but I have seen that piss-poor film Leprechaun In Space.
Films that have an original story, such as Event Horizon and the Alien trilogy are fine by me, but as for earth-bound villans going into space....I don't think so.
Christ, Chucky In Space will be next!

I don't necessarily like horror in Space either, but I did enjoy Jason X! Then again, I love all Friday's, Except 9, which is only "OK". I've seen Leprechaun 4, it sucked, but it WAS fun! So horror in Space isn't horrible...

Hmmm Jack Frost in Space doesn't sound too bad. I mean he's not really a well respected character so who cares where he goes. I'd see it as being so bad its hysterical, and besides I actually thought Part 2 was pretty good. Well thats all for now GOoD JOURNEY my fellow schmoes.
