This is great news. Even know each one will be realeasd a different year its nice to know that they have finished them all. the people who have been working on them must be happy after all the work that they've done making these long films they must feel so good.
This information has been known since the films more or less started production. Filmed over a period of about 15 months, it's the largest film undertaking of all time.
The rough-cut for The Two Towers is already done, according to Peter Jackson, and the effects work is in good stead.

I heard that only 250 or the approximatley 600 special effects shots are done. And the score of TTT still has a long way to go...
I believe I heard the same, and the rough-cut is just that. I suppose it must be pretty rough at the moment.
Never-the-less, what shall come forth is another cinematic masterpiece. Better than FOTR. Fact.

Actually, I prefer Fellowship too all of them, and if they had had 5 hours to tell the full story, it could have been the best. But I also love the other two immensly, so I guess it doesnt matter.
My favourite always has been FOTR. I love the slow-building horror element at the beginning with the Nazgul.
The best however, I feel, is The Return Of The King, with The Two Towers close behind.

Yo!
Why is this not in one of the other threads?
Yes both flicks are being fleshed out and the effects worked on as we speak.
I think it will be hard to tell which installment will be the best as you will not see PJ's true vision for any of the parts until they are released on DVD.
And I hope the include Wood's audition tape on the DVD!
Out......
