THE BEST NON-HUMAN VILLAINS in the HORROR, SCI-FI and THRILLER GENRES
MOST MALEVOLENT COMPUTER: HAL-9000 from 2001: A SPACE ODYSSEY. No explanation necessary.
CREEPIEST ANDROID: Ash (Ian Holm) from ALIEN. Witness the scene where he rips out a handful of Sigourney Weaver's hair, and attempts to shove a rolled-up magazine down her throat. This bastard gave the alien a run for its money!
COOLEST CYBORG: The T-1000 (Robert Patrick) from TERMINATOR 2. Comprised of Oscar-winning special FX, the T-1000 was a lean, mean killing machine!!!
MEAN-SPIRITED SPECTERS: Freddy Krueger (Robert Englund) in A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET; CANDYMAN (played by Tony Todd); the Headless Horseman (Christopher Walken) in SLEEPY HOLLOW.
KILLER CREATURES: THE BIRDS; Bruce, the (mechanical) shark in JAWS; the giant worms in TREMORS; the acid-spewing reptilic creatures in the ALIEN series; the seed pods from outer space in the three INVASION OF THE BODY SNATCHERS movies.
MOST DIABOLICAL DEVIL: The demon(s) possessing Linda Blair's Regan McNeil character in THE EXORCIST.
KILLER DOLLS: Chucky (voice of Brad Dourif) in CHILD'S PLAY; the ventriloquist dummies terrorizing Michael Redgrave in DEAD OF NIGHT and Anthony Hopkins in MAGIC.
I haven't included vampires, werewolves or zombies on this list because they were all considered human at one time or another.
