Did no one mention to him that it was a terrible idea to amke three movies about a guy that we know is going to turn bad. Talk about anti- climactic. Does George watch his own movies? My husband wants to know if Michael Jackson turned down the role for Yoda's father? George is a sellout! Must make him mad when he watches a movie as incredible as FOTR! Anyone else love to see Han's and Leia's kids. Word to the wise George, live in the now- not the past!

WHAT?

It's not anticlimactic AT ALL.

I can't believe how much the Schmoes hate George Lucas. As a Star Wars Freak, it makes me sad. http://www.joblo.com/ubb/frown.gif

I think the prequels are a brilliant idea. It was always clear there was a kickass story before the original trilogy, and I for one have always wanted to see in done in movie form. I say thank God that Lucas decided to make the prequels! (And yes, I really enjoyed The Phantom Menace!)

Hey I think the prequels are a good idea also but he is driving them into the ground.

I think that knowing the outcome of something does not make is less dramatic if it is done right.

Hey I read LOTR and I still found the movie great!

I just think that George has lost a little of his hunger that he once had before he became big. Now he is on autopilot.

I would love to see the last 3 made also but I have a feeling that will never happen, and if it does I hope Lucas stays in the background.

I was greatly anticipating TPM and it was a disappointment, but many movies with child actors are, but come on, Jake Lloyd blew!

He may be the only actor to not make a career out of being in a Star Wars flick.

We shall see how AOTC does but I feel it will fall short of even TPM. I have yet to hear any hype at all about it and it is almost here!

Out.......

Colin, you are the man I swear to god you are!!! I couldn't agree with you more. It also makes me sad to see how much the schmoes hate this brilliant man. I also think that the new trilogy is a GREAT idea, it breathes new life into the story. I think you guys need to leave the poor man alone and let him do what he wants.

P.S. Common, Mark Hamill didn't have much of a career after Star Wars. He went on to make trashy sci-fi flicks that nobody remembers. So, no Jake will not be the only one. I've heard plenty of hype surronding AOTC, so my guess is that the movie will make at least 300 million. In fact I gaurentee it. Oh, and your idea of making the last Star Wars movies will happen. If I become a big enough star in Hollywood (which I am sure I will) I plan on uying the rights from George Lucas (if he's alive) and making the last three movies and ending the seris once and for all. I also plan on directing and starring for the adaption of The Hobit into a live action film.. IT WILL HAPPEN.

P.S.S. People need to stop mentioning FOTR. It's making me sick and really turning me off to the next movie. FUCK FOTR. AOTC will rule them all!!!!!!!!

As a ridiculous-level-of-hardcore-edness Star Wars fan, I cannot condemn George Lucas to his very soul: he gave us the ideas and characters behind an incredible trilogy - THE incredible trilogy. A lot of people who do "great" things when they are young never follow it up. A case in point is Orson Welles, who at 26 (26!) co-wrote, directed, and starred in Citizen Kane!! and then, at the hands of Hearst and for other factors, he basically almost disappeared after scrambling together a few more films when he could find the money (not that Touch of Evil or Magnificent Ambersons can even be compared with the lowliness of Episode I).
I think Lucas has put his passion elsewhere. He's raised a family, promoted and funded (sadly) the development of CGI and other technologies, and, I think, lost his creative edge and ability to tell a good story. And the original trilogy was the definition of a GOOD SIMPLE story, with an impecable script, charisma, and wonderfully REAL fx. CGI is not REAL looking, it's actually pretty obvious and, for me, depressing. You can laugh at the apparent simplicity of using models and trick photogrpahy as in IV-VI, but at least it's believeable, real, convincing (to me).

DicaprioTravlotaGuy: I admire the passion in your responses, but I'd have to disapprove of your rashness and, i'm sorry, irrelevant vulgarity. There are better ways to make a point (IMO IMO IMO) than dropping fbombs and flying off the handle. When you're more cool-headed, you make for a great, interesting viewpoint on many topics. I just wish you'd be like Fonz more often, and what is The Fonz like? That's right, he's cooool. (Pulp Fiction seeps into everything)
