Christine - John Carpenter's Christine.
Carrie - Brian De Palma's Carrie

Creepshow is a laugh
Movies I loved the Book & Hated the film.
Misery - didnt Hate the Movie just loved the book so much more.

Misery is the best adapted King book into a movie.

One of my favorite King Books is Christine!
It's incredible! I mean, look at the plot : A possessed car???!!! It couldn't be taken serious if it wasn't from King. And it creeped me out. All the Characters were brilliant and believeable. I've never seen the movie but I'm curious...
I think the worst of the film adaption is "Thommyknockers". I didn't like the book that much and the movie was pretty dull. However, I'd love to see a movie made with "Desperation"!

I absolutely loved The Stand the first time I read it, and the second time, and the third time....etc. I thought the TV mini-series was really well cast and very entertaining.
I am reading The Dark Half now, but I have already seen the movie which I thought was pretty wicked (With Romero directing it why wouldn't it be).
I hated the Langoliers and the Tommyknocker movies. CRAP.

I like The Shining the best of all the adaptions. I also like IT, Salem's Lot, and Pet Semetary. I like Carrie, but whenever I watch it, it never feels like horror. I should really read more. I've only read Stand By Me (terrific movie and novel) and the Gunslinger, which would make a GREAT movie. Oh well, I just have a short attention span.

I don't mind if a movie diverges from the book as long as it keeps the intent or the flavor. I love Stanley Kubrick's movie version of "The Shining," but that's what it is - Kubrick's. Having said that, here's my list:
1. "The Dead Zone"
2. "The Shawshank Remption" (from "Rita Hayworth and Shawshank Redemption" in "Different Seasons")
3. "Stand By Me" (from "The Body" in "Different Seasons")
4. "The Green Mile"
5. "The Stand"
6. "The Dark Half"
7. "Misery"
8. "Carrie"
9. "Dolores Claiborne"
10."'Salem's Lot"
Passibles:
"Christine"
"Langoliers"
"Pet Semetary"
"Silver Bullet" ("Cycle of the Werewolf")
"Apt Pupil" (from "Different Seasons")
"Thinner"
Guilty Pleasures:
1. "Maximum Overdrive" (from "Trucks" in "Night Shift")
2. "Graveyard Shift" (from "Night Shift")
3. "Children of the Corn (from "Night Shift")
All-time favorite "Stephen King movie":
"Creepshow" /ubb/tongue.gif
