The Omen? Crappy? Are you insane? /ubb/smile.gif What about this movie is crappy? Jason goes to Hell was just great cheese...if ya want crap...go watch these:

Any Amittyville Horror sequel....god these really do suck.
Kingdom of the Spiders...Starring William Shatner as a cowboy vet stuck in a town infested with tarantulas.
Pigs...won't waste the brain cells explaining this one.
Snake...Ditto
Spirits...Starring that sexy CHIP's star Erik Estrada(muffles laughing)as a ...priest...HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA...just plain stupid...(righteous t and a though when "evil" nun tries to seduce the perfect priest...even though I'm a girl...she still had killer tits...till she turned into a evil nasty looking demon.)
The Haunting (remake)
Honestly what about the Omen did you dislike so much. I really loved it, and it is one of my all time favorites.

The reason I hated The Omen is I thought there wasn't much blood and guts.I dont base movies on that type of stuff, but this movie was boring. Sorry.

i dont understand why people hate TCM 3..i mean, yeah it wasnt as good as the first one,but it still was a solid flick!!it was an "up to date" version of TCM 1..whats yer reason for dissing the film??

How could you not like the glass truck decapitation in The OMen? You had the nanny with a freaking hanging? Come on...

The Arrow

Crappy sequel: Texas 4 is the worst one of the series for me.

Texas 3 had potential but the studio did their own butchering. It never lives up to its first decent 20 minutes, to me the film feels incomplete.

THE OMEN CRAP??????????? To each is own I guess but I loved The Omen...it creeped me out...

Here's another crappy sequel: The Arrival 2 (shite) and The Hidden 2 (more shite).

kerryanne
01-03-2001, 02:22 PM
I didn't even know that they made another Arrival movie... must have been straight to video. Hey here is another... The Prophecy 3, The Acsent. Rented it this weekend, and although I love the first two(mainly because Christopher Walken is the MAN!!! He looks kinda creepy, and I love it when he plays the bad- ass) This one sucked. Walkens performance in this sequel was stale, not to mention he was nice.

I was at a video store looking for a horror movie to rent, it was Halloween so almost everything was out, there was a movie in called American Gothic, I decided to rent it. It was one of the worst movies I had ever saw. I could of made a better movie with my home camera (looks like they made American Gothinc with theirs). Has anyone ever seen that pile of crap?

Femme_Fatale

INCREDIBLE MELTING MAN--great MST 3k episode, though

The crappiest "horror" movie of all time would have to be the direct to video made here in Canada, "GRIM". It was about some big huge troll like creature who killed these spelunkers while they were exploring his cave.

It was horribly directed, the gore and killings were very fake, the acting was so bad I can 't describe it and the lighting was do dim you couldn't see half the time.

DO NOT EVER RENT THIS FILM

"Grim" is the worst movie mentioned so far that I've seen. It's bad because it's boring. Watching my cat clean herself is far more enthralling.

Hey, kerryanne, "Kingdom of the Spiders" ain't that bad. I doesn't deserve to be listed along side "Pigs" or "Snakes" (haven't seen "Spirits"). Unlike those two, I thought it actually managed to develop some suspense, and the final frame is creepily great.

And finally, "Re-Animator" ROCKS, Femme. Consider yourself abused.

"Grim" was pretty damn bad, but what about "The Wishmaster"...that was pure bad cinema...

I totally agree about "TCM 4" Arrow...What were they thinking? I mean, as fun as it is to see Matthew McConaughey as a raving lunatic who likes incest, it has nothing to offer in the way of scares or even good cheese...

the night watchman
01-12-2001, 03:41 PM
"Wishmaster" was pretty bad, but I'd still put it above "Grim." It did, after all, actually have a plot that, you know, progressed.

im not sure if "the In Crowd" is classified as a horror movie, but i just watched it and man did it ever suck!!!i remember seeing the trailer for this movie, and i thought it looked like a solid flick, but it just didnt have much of a story..it lacked in everything,EXCEPT females..Susan Ward is hot!!thats the only good thing about the movie...

Lindsey

I think horror movies push it when they have over 3 sequel's. It just keeps getting longer and longer. And you just forget about the point of the film.Didn't "Halloween" have more seqel's the Friday the 13th movies? I know that FT 13th had 8, and is going to make Jason X. Who had more sequels?

the night watchman
01-13-2001, 08:05 PM
"F13th" has more sequels ... ten in all, including "Jason X." (Hence, the "X" /ubb/wink.gif .)

You know, I think the only movie series that had at least 2 sequels which both live up to the original is Evil Dead, maybe James Bond(Goldeneye and TWINE are my personal faves). But, as for crappy horror movies, Grim is probably the worst, but has anybody seen Head of the Family? I won't even put details, just that besides some(a lot, actually) T&A, it sucked.

I've read some good reviews over the years for some piece of garbage called SAVAGE WEEKEND. You wouldn't believe how many times the boom mike was shown. This crap is so bad they have a shot with a mirror in the room and you can see the movie getting filmed! If it didn't get decent reviews I wouldn't be so hard on it, but even in fast forward this movie sucked.

Also, anything released by A-Pix entertainment. WEREWOLF. VOODOO. GRIM. THE FEAR. THE FEAR: HALLOWEEN NIGHT. JACK FROST. JACK FROST 2. etc.

kerryanne
01-16-2001, 01:03 PM
Night Watchman I can't believe someone else has seen "Kingdom of the Spiders" "Pigs" and "Snakes" I bought KOTS as video mark down, paid $2 whole dollars for it.(I remember seeing this when I was little)... it's good cheese, but not a great horror flick... I mean, when is there ever a time that William Shatner's acting doesn't reek of cheese? I will agree with you on the last scene, and maybe I shouldn't lump it in with Pigs and Snakes... but it's not a "great" horror film in my opinion.

I like bad movies more than others, but then again, there's shite out their that scares (in a bad way) even me.

A-Pix (as someone said) is AWFUL! Jack Frost (never saw two, but I will, just so I too can say it sucks, sorry Lindsey /ubb/smile.gif) to Killer Tongue blew. Can't remember if Bloody Murder was by A-Pix but it had an Alliance logo on it, and they make shit too.

Full Moon - As a fan of Puppet Master, parts 6 and 7 ("Curse of" and "Retro") sucked bad. Dollman vs. Demonic Toys, blah. Most of the stuff they make now is crap too (even rip offs of Puppet Master like Blood Dolls and Ragdoll), but some of the older stuff is good.

A few others I didn't notice:

I Still Know. . zzzzz bites.
Pumpkinhead 2: Bloodwings
Plague of the Zombies (only cause I don't think zombies are meant to be miners)

The Rage: Carrie 2. Talk about a sequel that should never have been made. I saw it on one of those free Showtime weekends where they let you watch the channel for free in hopes that you'll subscribe after they take it away, and I *still* want my money back.

i do not remeber the name but it was about a killer who escaped from a mental hospital and killed people wearing a doctors get up and a sergical mask. i dont only want the 2 bucks i spent on renting it i also want the 79 min it wasted of my life

I think that one was Dr. Giggles nightmarewilly. That one was bad.

Brock Landers
01-19-2001, 12:00 PM
"Dr. Giggles" was awful...wasn't the "doctor" played by that retard from L.A. Law, who took over playing "Darkman" in the sequels to the first film?

nightmarewilly
01-19-2001, 08:17 PM
no it wasnt dr. giggles it was older than that. but ya dr giggles did suck big time. another movie that i thought sucked was lake placid

Sacraficial Cow
01-20-2001, 11:47 AM
Dr. Giggles I think was the guy who played the villian in "Darkman" (don't they have a little devil icon or something for me..) I have seen many crappy films, in fact we make our own dialog as the film goes on to make it a little more amusing. Dr. Giggles was just funny. If i don't like the film for the horror part, i like it because it's funny, or they try to be serious but it's still funny. Others like this I think were Dead Alive (which has the funniest lines from a priest ever said). Evil Dead 1, Evil Dead 2, Army of Darkness (all good films) and American Psycho. American Psycho was funny and a tad thrilling but basically it hurt my head to watch it.. Some bad ones overall are Club Vampire and Uncle Sam which had nothing going for it. it wasn't even humorous. I really think they should stop making horror movies out of holidays. Well except Halloween, that ones only natural. Halloween=death!. now Christmas=death!. 4th of July=death!. St. Patrick's Day=death!. Valentine's=death! what's next Hanukkah? well killer turkeys on thanksgiving would be funny, but South Park already did that.

Sacraficial Cow

OH! "The Killer Eye". But craptacular and funnarific. If you haven't seen that you should. Not scary in the least, but fun for the whole family...

Lindsey
01-20-2001, 07:44 PM
When "Dr.Giggles" was made, the director wanted it to be the most scary movie made. When people started to see this movie they thought it was dumb. When I saw this movie, I just picked it up because I've seen every other one. I've never herd of it before, but I watched it. It was really dumb. Sure, it had a couple of good parts, but it was crap!

PanicTicks
01-20-2001, 08:17 PM
Talk about horror, I had the choice of seeing either DR. GIGGLES or CANDYMAN in theatres, since they opened within two weeks of each other. I picked DR. GIGGLES, and needless to say, everytime I watch CANDYMAN I can't forgive myself for missing it in theatres. DR. GIGGLES kept the theatrical slasher genre in the toilet for years. Still, SAVAGE WEEKEND was worse!

Has anybody seen "I Spit On Your Grave"? I've really wanted to see this film, but I think its banned. If you've seen it, tell me where!

Hey Lindsey, where do you live? I;ve seen I SPIT ON YOUR GRAVE for sale at Best Buy.

Lindsey
01-21-2001, 10:20 PM
I live in Oregon. I've looked in horror and in the cult classics at Hollywood Video and Blockbuster Video. I heard that it was banned in most stores because of the "rape" scene.

kerryanne
01-22-2001, 09:58 AM
I Spit on Your Grave is extremely disturbing... there are many "rape" scenes in this movie... I watched it once... but I never will again.

Lindsey
01-22-2001, 06:49 PM
Did you like at least a couple of parts? Is it worth watching? I herd that lots of people hate it and love it!?

Brock Landers
01-22-2001, 07:06 PM
"I Spit On Your Grave" is definitely worth watching if you are a fan of older, gritty, seventies-style horror flicks...I know I am. Besides, it is one of the better "revenge" flicks from the genre. I don't think it's the best thing since blowjobs, but it comes pretty close...in a manner of speaking. Some films (as proven by kerryanne's statement) are pretty realistic and repulsive in their visualization of certain events...and "I Spit On Your Grave" is one of those films. While not a purely entertaining film, it will leave you feeling a bit drained from the "terror" it exhibits. Some films are all about ambiance and setting-the-mood, and "I Spit On Your Grave" definitely delivers the thension-filled moments and "character" that defines a lasting, memorable piece of film. Overall, it's pretty good shit...

The worst horror flicks are: JASON GOES TO HELL, STEPHEN KING'S SLEEPWALKERS, SLEEPAWAY CAMP, MADMAN, I STILL KNOW WHAT YOU DID LAST SUMMER, URBAN LEGENDS: FINAL CUT and HALLOWEEN Parts 3 and 6.

I dont know why but i cant think of many that stick out at the moment cos ive seen loads. But the most recent was:
THE MUTILATOR
This was supposed to be banned in the early 80s but i got a copy at my local saying 'finally after all these years' etc etc extreme version! I thought "wow!" now i think "what????!!!!"
1.Bad BAD acting. Yes, worse than THE VIDEO DEAD!
2.HORRIBLY UNLIKEABLE characters.
3.VERY DARK - can hardly see the killings
4.SHITE SCRIPT
5.SHITE STORY/PLOT
6.THE OPENING CREDITS - You wont believe it. As they are driving, cheesy, jolly, rock music. A song called 'spring break'?

Gore 4 All
02-06-2001, 04:48 AM
I got "I Spit on Your Grave" from Best Buy uncut on VHS. That movie would have been extremely good had it not been for the disturbingly long rape which, after about 25 minutes or so made me want to turn it off. When it eventually turned to the revenge theme, I thought the movie was top notch, both terrifying and sadistic.

AHHHH!
Someone actually said Re Animator was crap? I think I might just have to send Barbara Crampton, Jeffery Combs, and Brian Yuzna to your house! LOL

Nah, my least favorite horror film of all time is the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Just didn't scare me, entertain me or anything. I actually felt like my IQ had lowered after watching it.

I love the first TCM, but can't stand the fourth. It just doesn't make sense. If you ask me its crap. crap crap crap. But that's just my view...

Mike

Ok, a few people listed Urban Legends 2:Final Cut as one of the worst horror movies, well, I have to disagree, I liked it. I mean, it didn't offer anything new and it wasn't scary in the least. But it was entertaining and kinda fun, not a classic, but good... I also have to disagree with the person the didn't like The Rage: Carrie 2, I thought it was great and it was WAY better than the first, I didn't even like the first one. Also, I kinda liked Texas Chainsaw Massacre 4: The next generation... It's the one with Renee Zellweger right? Anyway, I never saw the first one but I saw either #2 or #3, I think it was number 3 but I can't remember. So that and the fourth one were the only ones I saw of the series. I think I liked number 4 better though. It wasn't scary or anything, just fun to watch. I liked it...

Here's ones that I didn't like:

1) AMERICAN PSYCHO: I know quite a few of you people liked this movie and that's cool, but I don't think it lived up to the hype. I was there the first day it came out on video and I got the first copy of it, I was so excited. But once I watched it I was disapointed, I just didn't like it. I thought it was stupid.
Sorry guys, but that's my opinion...

2)The Exorcist: I thought this was supposed to be the scarriest movie ever made. I watched it with a friend of mine and be were both bored out of our minds and we couldn't wait for it to get over. Instead of jumping we were laughing. I'm sure it was scary back when it first came out but it isn't anymore. Of course I might have been scared if I watch it by myself with all the lights out, home alone. Then "maybe" I would have been scared. But I wasn't... Not that good at all...

3)Jack Frost 2: I never saw the first movie that was because it was always out at the video store and then it was stolen, and they never got a new copy. The only reason I was going to see it is because I wanted a really stupid movie horror movie to make fun of, and let's face it, it's a comedy. Anyway, since I
wasn't able to see the first one a friend and I rented the second one figuring it would be hilarious. You know, so stupid that it's funny, well, it was so stupid it was stupid. We wanted to make fun of it but it was just "too" dumb. Also, on the back over the movie case they make it look like it had a bunch of hot teen girls in it. Which would have been great. But you know what, the three really hot chicks they have get killed in the begining of the movie. Then all we're left with is a bunch of old people. What a dumb movie, the worst of 2000...

There's other dumb ones out there to but these are the ones I've seen recently...

PEACE

Hey MORGAN, I edited out A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET, PART 2 from all of my "hate-it" lists. Upon viewing it again last weekend (I only saw it once, when it premiered in theaters during 1986), I realized that it was not as bad (or as campy) as I remember. Maybe it was because about 20 of us saw it during a midnight showing (remember those?), and didn't pay attention to the film's good points. Although I still don't like the lead character (played by Mark Patton), Robert Rusler (from "Weird Science") still rocked. I also noticed that Freddy wasn't "everywhere" as he was in the other NIGHTMARE flicks, and was WAY more mean-spirited than usual!

Just wanted to point out Mike American Psycho in non way, shape or form tried to be a horror movie, anymore than Fight Club, they are both Sociological satires.

As for the Excorsist it is a cerebral horror film, its more what you dont see & the concepts themselves that are frightening.

I find they dont make horror films anymore just comedy films that have Gore (Scream,I know what you did etc), I for one look forward to the day where a film scares me again, but i dont think anyone will ever do it as well as Hitchcock.
Dont get me wrong I like Scream etc as comedies, but a horror film has to get my pulse racing & my mind screaming "Go Back" like in Psycho when she walks down the stairs to go to the basement, or John Carpenters Halloween.
As I said its not that I dont like this style of film for what it is, but man I would like someone to make a scary movie that was also clever, like they used to, or as Brock said return to the gritty syle of some of the 70s clasics
Sorry Im sort of off the topic, but anyway
all the worst horror films Ive see have basically been mentioned:

Didnt notice Jaws The Revenge listed which is indeed not scary & above all a terrible movie.

Mike
02-28-2001, 09:34 PM
I know American Psycho was more of a satire but since most other people include it in horror discussions I figured I would too. The Exorcist was still bad...
I don't know why you were talking about comedy/horror movies and mentioned I KNOW WHAT YOU DID LAST SUMMER, this was not at all a comedy/horror movie, it was more drama/horror, their was nothing funny about it. It was more serious, I never laughed once... I could see SCREAM but not IKWYDLS....
