Yup, the movie STAR WARS: EPISODE II- ATTACK OF THE CLONES is set to be released on May 16, 2002 in the States, but word on the street is that there are already a couple of goofs in Seattle waiting in line for tickets. Now I love movies and all, but this...well, I don't really know what to say...

...other than that's pathetic? Well, at least that's what I'd say. The movie doesn't come out for another 5 months still. I just don't understand how someone could do that. Oh well.

Here's the whole article from IMDb (http://www.imdb.com/):
"Two American fans are already in line to see the next Star Wars film, four and a half months before it opens. Jeff Tweiten and John Guth have pitched their tents outside the Cinerama in Seattle, Washington. Tweiten is aiming to set a new world record for the longest wait for an event. Star Wars 2: Attack Of The Clones opens worldwide on 16 May. He says, "We love Star Wars and I want to create sort of a life art project out of this that can be displayed once this is over with. "Over the course of the next four months we plan on capturing our adventures and experiences on the streets of Seattle with our cameras and journals. What we do with it after it's all done with... ask us then." Tweiten and Guth will have to contend with Seattle's notoriously cold and rainy weather. A storm rolled into Seattle Sunday night and a series of overnight lows within a few degrees of freezing are expected to set in by Friday, according to extended weather forecasts."

More power to them then. But, the weather in Seattle is going to suuuuck. They are going to have a hell of a time sort of surviving it.

I read about this a couple days ago over at theforce.net. What can I say?? Those two idiots are not only the biggest, most pathetic geeks in the world (not counting the fatass at you-know-where) but they are also going to be sorely dissapointed when Episode II sucks indescribable dick. Ok, I know it wont be that bad, but from what I have seen and heard - ....well, you know. Anyways; there really pathetic.

I know I said this in the other Star Wars topic, but I'm gonna say it here too. Dumb-Fokker, you've gotta give Episode II a chance. You seem to hate it before it comes out. Kici once said she didn't like LOTR and you pointed out that she already decided not to like it before seeing it. You've done the same thing for Episode II.
As for this topic, I'm a big Star Wars geek myself, but these guys just make me sad.

I think it has to be said that these fanboys need to move out of the make-believe Star Wars universe in their little heads and go and find some girlfriends.
Geez, even nerdy, Dungeons and Dragon fanboys will tell these guys to get a life.

I camped overnight in line for Episode One tickets, but that was a singular, once-in-a-lifetime experience, and I don't see myself ever doing it again. Five months sort of defies rationality...
Oh, and by the way, some of you seem to be having a bit confusion over geek hierarchy. http://www.joblo.com/ubb/smile.gif Hopefully this will explain it: http://www.brunching.com/features/geekhierarchy.html

I didnt care that kici didnt like Lord of the Rings came out; I just thought her reason was stupid - she wasnt gonna see the film, because of the fans of the book. ........ok Anyways, my unlking for Episode II is based in theory, which I will give here.
1. The fact that Lucas has not made a good movie since ESB,....oh wait; he didnt make ESB - someone else did. Nevermind. (ESB is the only SW film I like, and one of my favorite movies)
2. It has the same screenwriter as The Scorpion King doesnt help.
3. N*SYVCs appearance not onlys bugs me because I dont want them in it, but also because it shows that Lucas has sold out.
4. The dialiuge from the trailers is horrible. I mean HORRIBLE.
5. Lets not forget what Ryan Phillipe said about Jar-Jar, and Lucas wanting to make him a prominent figure in the film - even if he isnt in the trailers.
There are a couple of other things, but their personal and not worth mentioning. So, you understand now??

I'm looking forward to seeing Episode 2, but who the hell would queue for four months, why not just book tickets?!? Idiots. Anyway, I hope Episode 2 is a hell of a lot darker than the rest, I can't take another SW movie made for kids. As for the N*Sync debate, get over it, you won't even be able to tell it's them, it's for their sake more than it being a deliberate 'cameo'.

Well...sitting out with still over 5 months to go before the film is released, is a waste of time. Some people in this world do really productive things with their life, some people just carry out an average life, just having friends and family, and some people (2 in particular) WASTE THEIR FUCKING TIME, DOING SOME POINTLESS ACTIVITY, SITTING OUTSIDE A FUCKING CINEMA FOR A FILM THATS HALF A YEAR AWAY!
Those guys should just be beaten, severely.
No, wait a second. There's a huge difference between been a big fan and been a big freak.

I totally laughed when I saw this and then fell off my chair when I read that these two idiots originally wanted to camp out for 2 years... glad to know that some people have so much time on their hands...

I confess that I am a Star Wars geek - I still have all my toys from '77 and on, and I'm ashamed to admit that I waited in line for twelve hours to see the Special Edition of Star Wars and even camped outside a theater overnight to see Episode I. What did I learn from all this? That the disappointment one feels when camping outside a theater for 24 hours only to find that you really disliked the movie is not worth repeating ever, ever, ever again. I will not camp out to see Episode II, nor will I wait in line over an hour. If this means waiting a week or two to see the film, fine. Episode I left such a bad taste in my mouth (ie: Jar Jar, Jake Lloyd's performance, flat boring CGI scenery and characters, etc., etc.) that my hopes of a darker, more brooding Episode II have all been dashed. I figure this way at least I'll be pleasantly surprised if I actually end up liking Episode II - and will even save a few bucks by seeing it at the matinee showing instead of opening night. I say: BRING ON EPISODE III!!!

I'm looking forward to AOTC and all, but this is just idiotic! How in the hell can you wait for 5 months to see a damn movie! I mean, I waited 8 hours to see Episode 1, but c'mon, at least it isn't 5 months! These guys are nuts!

The next story we'll see will be "2 idiots who decided to camp out for 5 months to see SW Ep. 2 have died from pneumonia. Due to sitting outside, on a cold side-walk, for weeks and weeks on end, Seattle's bizarre weather finally caught up with the 2 morons." These guys are taken the phrase "mindless jackasses" to the next level. However, if I was to sit in front of a theater for months on end, I'd bring some money so that I could go see other films while I was there. I'd wouldn't be surprised if the theater manager said "Hey, get the hell out of here before I call the cops". I would, I wouldn't let anyone loiter on my property for more than 24 hours.

I agree with what you said about. Makes me wonder if these two guys have any life whatsover outside of "Star Wars." Looks like these two guys only thing in life is "Star Wars" and nothing else. I do look forward when they are on David Letterman with Letterman cracking jokes about these "Star Wars" fanatics with almost no life to them. I do have to admire their courage and guts for waiting in line in the bitter cold for four and a half months for a movie that has no guarantee of being a good film. I wouldn't even stay out in the cold for an hour unless someone paid me a hundred dollars. I love movies and all but I do not like waiting more than one hour for a film. I even think waiting twenty minutes is too long for that heap of turd film called "The Phantom Menace."
Just hope they don't get too disappointed if the movie really sucks. Good chance of that with Lucas in the directing chair. He obviously is one of those people who wants a lot of quanity (money) without putting any quality into his work. I will think it will be hilarious that they wait so long and the movie theater doesn't carry the film. Now that will be funny. They will have waited all for nothing. Stefan's out.

I think these guys deserve to die in the cold weather. We need less idiots like this in our world. They neve really had a "life" anyways.

Serves them right.
The select members of Seattle's Star Wars society, who are currently waiting on line for tickets 5 months in advance, were mugged last night at around 2am, police say. They were assaulted by a small gang while asleep, and were roughed up and had their money stolen. Fortunately for them, noone was seriously injured, although they had to take a short break from their vigil in order be checked at the local hospital.
Out......

The fun continues for this guy. Here's the latest, according to the Aldera.net (http://www.aldera.net/) website:
"Exotic Dancer Sent to Seattle Star Wars Lineup!
Yes, a stripper!! A radio station out of New York sent the dude sittin' in line for Episode II a stripper! M' lady Cassie of the Seattle Star Wars Society sends me this hilarious story over ICQ:
This might be newsworthy... a radio show in NY sent Jeff a stripper. They said, "Can we send you anything to make your stay a little easier?" and he said, "Uh... a stripper?" I thought it was right up your alley... LOL
I'm guessing there will be fanboy lineups all over the place now! But wait, it gets better.. there are pictures! Check out this little gallery I made below... scroll through them by pressing NEXT, but be warned, some of these may not be save for work or ..well, whatever. Enjoy.
