I MUST ADMIT, CHOPPER CHICKS IN ZOMBIETOWN, FOLLOWED BY KILLER NUN, THIS LAST SATURDAY, ON BRITAIN'S CHANNEL FOUR, WAS A CLASSIC DOUBLE-BILL FOR LATE NIGHT FUN.

Yeah, i caught REDNECK ZOMBIE'S on channel 4? the other night - one of the worst pieces of shite i've ever seen. See - unlike you guys who appreciate corny shit like that cos it's fun, being an aspiring film maker, i get angry thinking that some producer gave these dicks money to make a piece of crap. Money that i could use to make a much better movie! Hell, give me half the budget!

I must admit, Troma movies are a guilty pleasure of mine, not good films but great fun in a part-self-referential-part-so-bad-theyre-funny-and-perfect-with-beer-and-pizza kind of way! Enjoyed Tromeo and Juliet (Lemmy!) and even Terror Firmer, but fave is probably Alferd Packer - The Musical!, renamed Cannibal! The Musical and made by Trey Parker and Matt Stone before they got round to making cartoons from construction paper cutouts... /ubb/smile.gif
PS - MorganOnyx, half the budget of a Troma flick would probably only just get you a pint, or a half if you live in London /ubb/wink.gif Remember, the fact that Troma films and the like have a cult following that makes money is one of the few reasons aspiring filmmakers get given money to make a film in the first place...

Morgan, I'm also an aspiring film maker. But, I still love the cheesy films. Now, you really don't mean to tell me that you don't find the Troma films fun????? I love good horror just as much as anyone else. Dario Argento is one of my favorite directors....but, so is Peter Jackson. He is the king of cheese, but his films are still good. I keep tellin you, corny shite is good shite. /ubb/smile.gif

i haven't seen too many tromas :(
i do have the 1st 3 toxies (can't wait to see the 4th) and bloodsucking freaks. only got bloodsucking freaks because i was shopping with my x and his best friend a few years back and i wanted to watch something awful with them, and the friend insisted on that one....didn't really like it. something about naked girls eating people and some dude torturing them doesn't appeal to me much *shrugs*. oh well...
i still love my toxie :)

I was a doubter like many of you, because I had seen Redneck Zombies and almost committed homocide after because of how terrible it was.
Then I saw Toxic Avenger and it changed my mind.
THEN I saw Terror Firmer and it changed my life.
Terror Firmer is the movie that changed my mind and made me decide to go into the film business when I graduate from college. In fact, I'd be proud to work for Troma some day.
I am not kidding, everyone should be made to watch Terror Firmer.
And I really think Lloyd Kaufman is a genius. As somebody mentioned earlier in the thread, Troma is the reason why independant filmmakers get any money...period.
The point of Troma is to keep independant cinema alive, and give people the option of making a movie without Hollywood interference. All the cheap laughs, gore and breasts are just the way he has chosen to do it. the fact that Troma is still around today is a miracle in itself.

Toxic avenger is the best troma movie followed by Class of Nuke'm High, I also enjoyed Troma's war and Citizen Toxie.
