What are your favorite Hollywood, horror movie cliches? what are your least favorite?

I LIKE:

1)UNECCESSARY NAKED GIRL
2)KILLER WEARS MASK
3)HEROINE WITH BIG BOOBS
4)HEROINE WHO RUNS UP STAIRS INSTEAD OF OUT THE DOOR
5)"THE KILLER IS ALREADY INSIDE THE HOUSE" THEME
6)KILLER IS SOMEONE THEY ALREADY KNOW/IS CLOSE TO THEM
7)NO ONE LIVES WHO STATES THEY'LL "BE RIGHT BACK"
8)SEX EQUALS DEATH
9)DARK HOUSE AT NIGHT/IN THE WOODS/HOME ALONE, ETC....
10)LEGEND BEHIND KILLER/STORIES OF "STRANGE" & "UNEXPLAIINABLE" THINGS WHICH HAPPENNED TO PEOPLE JUST LIKE THEM

I DISLIKE:

1)KILLER TAKES MULTIPLE TIMES TO DIE
2)CRAPPY SEQUELS/SEQUEL SET UP
3)ANNOYINGLY HAPPY ENDING
4)OVERDONE DEATHS (FISTS THROUGH THE HEAD, ETC...)
5)BLOOD ISN'T THE RIGHT COLOR
6)KILLER HAS SUPERHUMAN-LIKE STRENGTH
7)THE INTREPID/OVERDONE/BORING "THE KILLER IS SIMPLY INSANE" MOTIVE
8)SEX EQUALS DEATH (i know i already said it, but it is a toss up for me)
9) KILLER IS ALMOST ALWAYS MALE
10)SAME KILLER WHO IS RESSURECTED IN MORONIC WAYS IN THE SEQUELS

I'm really tired of some plots that are about "revenge" because their parents/wife/kid/friends die.

I am also sick of the easy way out in action flicks. Like there always has to be that 1 last showdown and it always involves the bad guy to plunge to their death. You know, like fall off a building or something. I could live without that.

I hate how ''sex=Death'' , what are they trying to tell us, sex is bad????? Um No!

I understand Meat. Revenge is a good one, but it should only be a minute portion of their motive, they've got to have something else to work up to the climatic ending besides just that.

With action movies, the fall and go splat on the ground/car roof/vat of somethin' really hot has been overdone....it did work well in T2 though, why I wonder, but it is one of the lamer final showdown deaths.

I hate it so much when the killer just dont die and comes back for the sequel, i hate it especially when jason, Myers and freddy do this. no matter how much times you shoot they dont die!!!

I totally agree yvonne, as much as I love the Scream trilogy, sid or gale kicking the bucket would've been the most unexpected twist in the whole series it would have been annoying as well as great...oh, well, it didn't happen so I'll stop harping on it... /ubb/smile.gif

Speaking of killers that don't die...how many times can hollywood resurrect chucky? The most recent installment in the chucky series (which just get cheesier with each reincarnation) is Bride of chucky. l think that they shouldve made up another genre for that movie, for example:

a mixture of horror and comedy =horrody
a mixture or fantasy and crap =fanticrap

any one would do. The sfx were laughable...actually the whole movie was hilarious, l was in tears.(the shovel fighting scene)The worst thing is that you already know what the movie is about before you watch. The bride of chucky? hmmm what could the plot be? Just from the title you know our favorite foot-tall,homicidal,hell-raiser is finally tieing(spelling?) the knot. And from past sequels he gonna be body hunting again. But its entertaing for me,if l had it on video it could be a guilty pleasure ,right next to Tremors. Biggest surprise? Chuckys a father! /ubb/eek.gif ...please explain.

I hate those F****** predictable cats that come fall out of nowhere
And why wont those damn cars start when the killer is after them.
Oh yes, is it necessary to leave one survivor at the end?

im not sure if this is a cliche but how come in all these horror/slasher movies everyone all ways have a party or a little get together and then people end up dying.

Ya know what I really hate in some Horror movies (especially with Jason), is their teleportation powers they have. One second the heroine is escaping the killer on a motorcycle and looks back, the next second the killer jumps out from in front of a tree in front of the motorcycle. I mean, what tha fuck is that.

i just don't understnd a few things about hollywoods ideas on horror movie actions
1.who ever goes into their house alone and doesn't turn on a light?
2.if you had been trying to kill someone and they are down would you go up to the bodyto mke sure they're dead?i would be out of there the minute they hit the ground
3.finnally does anybody back into a dark room? i uually go in face first to make sure no one is in there.

HORROR CLICHES

(1) Virginal chicks live, sluts die
(2) The heroine drops the knife, gun, weapon, etc.
(3) In modern-day horror, a big star is offed in the first reel
(4) The killer never dies (setup for a sequel)
(5) False scares: cat jumping through window, etc.
(6) The extended chase scene
(7) Boyfriend of the heroine is the last to die (or is the last one stalked)
(8) The couple that has sex dies first
(9) Killing sprees occur on major holidays
(10) Secret pacts never remain secret

I agree about the killers always coming back and never dying, that gets a little sickening. But I have to disagree on one of them and that would be Freddy. He can always come back because he's in your dreams. He won't die, so him coming back is believable... I don't mind him coming back...
It kind of bugs me when people complain about him coming back. He's in your dreams, you can't kill him!
