Which horror characters do you reckon have lost their edge?? i spent the whole of my week off watching horror, and i realised that not a lot frightens me any more...id say Pinhead has lost in completely now, and Candyman is just a good laugh!!!

p.s- is anyone gonna say welcome back?!

Nope but I'll say where you been girl? /ubb/smile.gif We missed ya!

As sequels amount boogeymen lose their edge. Pinhead, Freddy, Candyman, Chucky even Jason (JGTH). Its sad but that's money talking.

The only killer who kept his edge (in my opinion) is Michael Myers. Yes the movies became silly but he remained the enigmatic badass we all love. I hope Part 8 (MichaelMyers.com...we're in big trouble guys) doesn't change that.

Freddy did lose it big time after Freddy's Dead, big he bought himself back some big time cred with New Nightmare.

On the whole though, sequels do seem to hurt whoever the bad guy is.

Yeah, i agree with FEMME - they all lose their edge sooner or later, apart from MICHAEL MYERS - he ALWAYS creeps me out.
CHUCKY - CHILD'S PLAY 2 onwards. He was kinda scary in the first one
JASON - When he becomes a super zombie (part6) i sorta started cheering for him rather than being scared.
FREDDY - PART 2 onwards, when he becomes a wise cracking freak!

Oh, the TALLMAN is always cool. He doesn't soften up.

Are you talking about "bogeymen" who lose their edge in the sequels, or who aren't scary any more even when rewatching the original.

If it's the former, then Freddy is definitely a victim of over-exposure. But you're right, he got some of his stuff back in "New Nightmare."

Freddy was so nice in Freddy's Dead! He took the time to entertain you as you died... He turned back to his darker roots in New Nightmare thou of course...

Jason did get pretty soft after a while, and so has Micheal *IMHO*
Someone mentioned the Tallman? I have to say that he is still my favorite badguy in any horror film, but my image of him was softened after watching Phantasm: Oblivion. Seeing him as a regular person was a little of a shock.... /ubb/smile.gif

I used to be completely scared of gore and I would cringe every time Michael Meyers would slit some girls throat. but now gore if just boring and I need a good thriller. Good thing Halloween is has everything a horror/thriller needs.

Freddy Kruger in movies 4-6
Chucky in Bride Of Chucky ( But it was still cool)
And THE LEPRAHCAUN IS THE WORST KILLER EVER!
