Finally got a chance to watch this film last night, and it was great....only one bad thing though...it was on SciFi.....damn edited movies.....

I've read numerous reviews of this film online and have been looking for a copy for years. Then, last night, I was flippin channels and clicked on SciFi right as it came on.....YESS!

This has got to be one of the funniest and well written horror films of all time. I love the homage that it paid to other film directors by using their names in the film.
There is a student named Romero, a girl named Cronenberg, and a cop named Raimi....man, I loved it!

Film changed a lot on me though, which surprised me. It went from being a SF film with little baby lookin aliens runnin around to being a vintage 50's horror film to being a new age zombie film to being SF and a zombie film again! WHEW!

All in all, this film is great. I wish I could see the true version of it....if anyone could make me a copy, I'd greatly appreciate it...I'll even pay money.

Man this movie was great.

SKABOY -
We have a knack for disagreeing. This movie is CRAP! Funny? Well written? You've just made me laugh very, very hard.
So, i make a crap horror flick which isn't funny and call characters CARPENTER, CRAVEN and JAMIE LEE, you'd like that too?

P.S. - I love ragging on you! If THE MUTILATORS shite characters were named after famous horror celebrities, you'd love that, wouldn't you?!!!

Yes Morgan, we do disagree constantly, don't we?

I liked Night Of The Creeps because I felt it was original. It did have some bad moments, but most were enjoyable.
I'd take it over that other crap movie anyday....what was the name of it?
Oh yeah, I remember CLOWNHOUSE

Oooooh! Now you're getting personal boy! CLOWNHOUSE is like my mom, you just don't diss! Respect is v.neccesary - besides you'll be the one that looks stupid, there are a lot of people on these pages who like CLOWNHOUSE. I'm sure they prefer it to NIGHT OF THE CRAPS! The reason being....it's actually good!

LOL
Just wanted to see what you would say about that Morgan.
I was only joking.
I've never seen Clownhouse, cause I can't find a copy of it near me.

I'm with Ska on this one. "Night of the Creeps" really bites the big one. Corny, cheesy, and poorly written (the "Screaming like banshees!" janitor especially ticked me off). I'd rather watch "Sweet November" again than this clunker. Sorry, Arrow...

Its 80's and its a zombie film. Of course it has to be great. I'm wondering is this a comedy horror film or does it actually try to be serious with the situation? Hopefully its more the serious route but a bit of comedy isn't necessarily bad. And how are the gore and kills in this? Thanks to anyone who can help. Well thats all for now GOoD JOURNEY my fellow schmoes.

It's cheesy, but that is to be expected. You can't go wrong with Tom Atkins killing those alien motherfuckers.

I finally saw this movie tonight (located it at a Mom & Pop store), and I have to say...although I'm NO zombie fan by any means, this was one fun flick! Tom Atkins is still the man! Dick Miller in another hilarious cameo! The 80's! The in-jokes! You gotta love this film! One of the better horror-comedy hybrids out there.

This is a great movie. It parodies the monster-movies of the 50's but is never mean-spirited about it. It's kind of half parody, half loving homage. And it's got wonderfully quotable dialogue.

"I got good news and bad news, girls. The good news is your dates are here."

"What's the bad news?"

"They're dead."

But I do have a question about the two (yes TWO) endings to this flick. I'm am old-timer who remembers seeing Night of the Creeps in the movie theater. And the version I saw in the theater had a WAY different ending than the one I've seen on video and TV ever since. Spoilers follow describing the endings, highlight to read 'em.

MOVIE VERSION: The slugs are fried, hero and heroine reunite, and a dog comes up to them (the dog that belonged to the nosy old lady that got herself perished early in the flick). The girl squats down to pet the dog and a slug emerges from the dog's mouth and flies into the girl's. Cut to black, run end credits.

VIDEO VERSION: Fried, zombified detective emerges from where the slugs got burnt, walks down the street and falls forward. His head cracks open and slugs emerge from it, slithering to a nearby graveyard. A UFO then appears above the graveyard, beaming down searchlights.

Personally, I prefer the original movie ending. It was unpredictable and, in keeping with the rest of the flick, delightfully cheesy. The video version just feels tacked on to me. Anyone else remember seeing the original ending?

This was a guilty pleasure of mine when I was in my early teens. I wasn't supposed to watch scary movies (mom's rule to make, dad's rule to BREAK :D ) but it was on TV all the time. I watched it so many times as a kid. I miss it, though... Haven't seen it in years and would like to see it again. I bet I would understand more of the humor.

I do. That was the only ending I saw (slug flying into girl's mouth). I had no idea there was another ending. I like the original ending better. The alternate one sounds lame.

Does anyone know if the DVDs circulation on eBay that claim "2 versions of the film, filmmographies, etc." are legit or are they home made?

Like this one:

The original isn't that much gorier...to be honest I think this flick could have had a PG rating.

But a tight flick this was....I give it 3.5/5

I really like this picture.

It's a loving homage to cheesy 50's sci-fi pictures.
The dialogue is hilarious at times and I loved that they named characters after other horror icons.

This film sets itself apart. It doesn't take itself too seriously and is always a good time to watch.
